Revlon Minted Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Hey there.

I spoke too soon. I did my mint nail polish post and then found this one! But doesn’t it always work that way? icon smile Revlon Minted Nail Polish Swatches & Review

But for kicks and giggles I am going to add it to that post so we have some consistency. If there is one thing I hate it’s when things aren’t consistent!

So anyhow I found this beauty at my local Walgreen’s and of course had to try it out. Now for the record I think this is only the second Revlon color I currently own. I used to own more, waaaayyyy back in the day before I discovered the wonderful world of China Glaze and Zoya and all these other fabulous brands. The only one I can remember wearing a lot of was Vixen. But somehow most Revlon colors don’t appeal to me anymore, or I just can’t get past the hideous bottle. But this was different…

Minted

Minted is a pale mint green creme. It went on a bit sheer and streaky so at first I wasn’t too thrilled. However after the second, then third coat it evened out nicely and became this gorgeous color. Love. Another fabulous mint to add to my collection.

In case you missed it, here is the mint green post I did before.

What do you guys think of this one or of Revlon polish in general?

Milani Liquid Metal Nail Lacquer Collection Swatches & Review

G’day mates!

Today I’ve got some hot, metal, glittery fabulousness for you. In other words, Milani’s Liquid Metal collection for summer 2010. icon smile Milani Liquid Metal Nail Lacquer Collection Swatches & Review

This is a new collection of six glitters that initially I wasn’t all that excited about, but having swatched them I have changed my mind.

A word about formula, it’s pretty good. The one thing to note is apply these in thinner layers and wait a few minutes in-between coats or they will get gloopy at the tips and you’ll get cuticle drag. Other than that, they were fine. Most were even only two coats!

Peep them please!

Melt In The Sun

Melt In The Sun is a burnt yellow/gold with gold shimmer. Now this is the kind of color that just clashes on me because of all the yellow in it. It looks awful on me, however I think those with a different skin tone would look great wearing it. This was two coats.

OPI Summer Flutter Collection Swatches & Review

Hiya folks!

OPI has a new summer collection out called Summer Flutter and I’ve got them for you today.

I was pretty pleased with these because they were a little different from what I would expect of OPI for summer. In other words, more interesting than normal!

Having said that though I was a little disappointed after I actually applied them. A few of the “more interesting” ones didn’t live up to my expectations from the bottles.

The formula was fine, if not a little thick. They were all two coaters except one.

Read on!

Flower-To-Flower

Flower-To-Flower is a creamy pink with very subdued silvery shimmer. I am in love with this color! Seriously I know it’s like a Barbie pink, but it went on so smooth and nice, and I love the shimmer. I wore this one already and I really do love it. Perfect for summer! This was two coats.

Candy Coated Nails

Morning!

I was in rare form last weekend. Maybe it was because it was a long weekend and I was so happy to not be at work. Or maybe it was because it was sunny and warm. Whatever the cause, I decided to try some (very basic) nail art. I was inspired by the cover of the June issue of NailPro Magazine here, and thought to myself, why, even I could do that!

You see, I am not really into nail art, and I have very little patience or time to learn it myself. But this was so simple and fun, I had to try it.

Oh and just to toss this in there, I am sure this has been done a million times before, I’m not claiming it to be original, but I’ve never done it! Oh and to state the obvious, these are totally NOT practical! icon smile Candy Coated Nails

Hope you enjoy!

MAC In The Buff Nail Lacquer Swatches & Review

Hey there!

This is just a quick and dirty review of MAC’s new color called In The Buff, which is part of the To The Beach collection. There is another color called Scorcher which I think is a coral creme. It didn’t appeal to me so I didn’t buy it.

Here goes!

MAC In The Buff MAC In The Buff Nail Lacquer Swatches & Review
In The Buff

In The Buff is a camel/putty colored creme. Some people were calling it avocado green, which I don’t agree with at all. It much more camel, or brownish to me than green, but I do see some green in it. Someone mentioned that this might be similar to Kelly’s Green from BB Couture, but as you can see here, they are very different. Mine is what I think of as a true avocado green. I really liked this when I saw it online on other people, but I have to say I’m not really loving it so much on myself. I thought it would be this great, “weird-ugly” color, but it turns out with my skin it just kinda looks ugly. Sigh. Maybe I’ll give it a go later, but right now I’m not feeling it.

The formula was really nice, I think they are finally getting the hint! It went on very smooth in thin even coats, and I only needed two for full opacity.

How are you feeling about this one?
