Formula X for Sephora The Cut for Spring 2014 is a new collection featuring five limited edition pastel and pearl nail shades.
I was on the verge of purchasing all five the other day because I have a *thing* for wanting to own collections in their entirety, but I wound up with just two. It would have been three but one was sold out in the store and it appears to be sold out online as well.
The shades in the collection include:
- Dynamic – Light taupe creme
- Over The Top – Lime green creme (this is the one out of stock)
- Alive – Peach/pink creme
- A Little Sexy – Periwinkle pearl
- Inspiring – Turquoise pearl
A Little Sexy is a light periwinkle with a pearl finish. I love the actual shade, it’s so pretty. The finish I am not 100% sold on though because of the pearl finish. It’s a little brush-stroke-y in application so you have to work carefully. It covered nicely in two coats.
Inspiring is a bright light turquoise pearl. This one also has that pesky brush-stroke-y finish, but again, it’s a really nice shade. This was also two coats.
Overall: I love these color but I am not thrilled with the pearl finish. I knew they were pearl from looking at the bottles (you can see it running throughout) but I loved the colors so much I thought I would give them a chance. They do cover very nicely in just two coats. I have a love/hate with these at the moment! 😉
Have you picked any of the shades up from this collection?
