OPI Swiss Collection for Fall 2010 Swatches & Review – Part I

OPI Swiss for fall 2010 is here!

This collection is made up of twelve new colors. One half of the collection is shimmery metallics, and the other is cremes. Today I’ve got the shimmery (better half) of the collection for ya.

The formula on these was pretty nice. They were thick and I got good coverage after three coats for most (some were two).

NOTE: Vampy Varnish 3.0 is finished and should be live within a day or two. You might not see a post from me tomorrow or Wednesday, so don’t panic. I am trying to coordinate a time for the new site to go live, and since I am in the US and my web design company is in New Zealand, it’s a little tricky!

Glitzerland

Glitzerland is a C3PO gold metallic. I always think of C3PO when I see this color and that makes me happy. Love this gold because it’s not real warm, and suits my skin tone nicely. It’s got little flecks of other colors in it as well. This was two, very un-streaky coats.

Icing Limited Edition Black Glitter Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Today I’ve some some slightly older limited edition Icing swatches of a black glitter collection.

I think these came out last last year, but I only came across them recently and liked what I saw.

The bottles are on the small side at 0.40 oz, but not what I would classify as a true “mini” bottle. I believe the set was only like $8.00 because it was in the sale bin and the only one left.

The formula started off good but then after the first two colors, it deteriorated rapidly. Most were very thick and sticky and kind of glooped on, very messily. Oh well!

Blackened Purple

Blackened Purple is a black with tons of purple micro-glitter. This is an outstanding color! It totally glows, is very pretty and cool looking and I don’t think I have another one quite like it. The formula on this was really great no issues and two coats.

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails in Trendy Creme

What’s shakin?

Today I’ve got an oldie but a goodie for you. This was most graciously gifted to me by Sarah & Jason over at Crystal Polish. They saw this in a dollar tree and said they thought of me because they know how much I love these olive green colors. How sweet are they!?!

Now I don’t know exactly when this color came out but I’m guessing early 2000′s or late 90′s.

Isn’t she gorgeous? I love the smooth, creamy, olive-y goodness. It’s also got hints of khaki thrown in there. Even though the polish itself was old, it applied really nicely, like it was brand new. This was two coats. Love!

Thanks again Sarah & Jason for thinking of me, I am very happy to add this to my green collection!

A Beautiful Life Nails Natural Lacquer Swatches & Review

A Beautiful Life Natural Nail Lacquers is a “green” line of nail lacquers from the company A Beautiful Life Brands. Their nail colors are big 3 free, non-toxic, soy based and come in recyclable packaging!

They currently have about 18 colors available and I have tested three of them, along with their soy nail polish remover for you.

The formula on these is just ok in my book. Two of them were pretty thick and had a little bit of a sticky feel to them, which made it more difficult to get even coats. The other was very sheer, but that wasn’t the formula’s fault, it was meant to be a sheer color.

One great thing about these, other than the green bonus, is that they print the name of the color on the front of the bottle. I think that’s a great idea and wish more company’s would do the same thing. A lot of times those little stickers fall off older bottles then I can’t remember what they are anymore!

A Beautiful Life Nails Vette A Beautiful Life Nails Natural Lacquer Swatches & Review
Vette

Vette is a baby blue creme. I think this color is really flattering and gorgeous, if not a dupe for many other baby “Tiffany” blues I already have. Of the three I tested, this was the thickest one, and I had a little trouble with it. But it did turn out fairly decent in the pic. This was two coats.
