I have a on again/off again love affair with the Kat Von D Eyeshadow Palettes. It’s mostly on, but there have been a few times where I was thinking “You’re just not doing it for me anymore, unless you change, I need to move on”. Well now we are definitely back ON!

The Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Angeles Palette is just gorgeous. When I first laid eyes on it on Sephora’s website I must admit, it looked a little lackluster to me. But those blue colors drew me in. That and the fact that I feel the need to own all of these palettes for some crazy reason.

I was most excited that there were no cream shadows because I don’t really like those much, but alas, there is one. BUT it’s super pretty!

The left side of the palette features really warm natural colors. The right side features cool blues and greens. I think this is a great color combo for summer because you can go with a warm toned eye in copper and brown or a cool “ocean” look in blue and green.These are mostly all pretty wearable colors and not a black matte shadow in sight!

Kat Von D, as you may know, has a collection of True Romance Eyeshadow Palettes out exclusive to Sephora. Her latest one is called Truth and it’s surprisingly wearable and nice.

I have all but one of these palettes and have been pretty impressed overall. The last one however, (Adora) left a bad taste in my mouth so I was a bit hesitant to purchase another one. The colors won me over though, I couldn’t resist those greens

The front of the palette has a bunch of really cool vintage looking keys on them. Read about Kat’s inspiration for these: “The keys are displayed above my desk. I collect them because I love what they signify: romantic, classic, Victorian, antique, access to an old castle, fairy tales, or a secret compartment. Locks and keys fit together and symbolize love. A key feels like a special way to unlock what’s otherwise forbidden….in the case of my palette it’s about unlocking the soul and redefining beauty.”

I love the design myself, I think it’s really cool looking and pops out against the white of the palette.

Inside you will find a large mirror, eight colors and two small useless applicators:

Kat Von D is building up quite the collection on Sephora’s website now, and recently I was in a local Sephora and this caught my eye.

Now I have seen regular ‘ole eye primers in the basic nude shades (or shimmery), but nothing like this. It’s her new High Voltage Eye Primer in the shade Smoky.

Smoky is different because it’s a super dark grey base, supposedly perfect for dark eyeshadows and smokier looks.

But after testing it out one day this childhood song comes to mind (these are my lyrics though) “Great grey globs of greasy, smoky eye primer”…

I’m a sucker for the Kat Von D eyeshadow palettes. One because the colors are usually really amazing. Two because the packaging is SO pretty and cool.

The newest limited edition palette from Kat is called Adora and it’s got eight colors, three of them being cream colors.

Good afternoon!

So when I was browsing Sephora’s website recently I came across a new eyeshadow palette by Kat Von D called Memento Mori, and I knew right away it needed to be mine. I love her palettes, I have all of them except True Love. Not only did the colors totally call to me, but you see, the colors in this palette are named after famous Day of the Dead skulls, and if you guys have been reading my blog for awhile, you know I love Day of the Dead stuff.

Memento Mori comes from a Latin phrase that means “remember that you will die”.

The first thing that drew me in was the packaging of course. All her other palettes are black, but this one really stands out with the white case and blue Day of the Dead artwork that of course, looks like an old school tattoo.
