Halloween 2009

It’s November!

So Halloween 2009 is over, and now we are all looking forward to Thanksgiving. Then next…I don’t even want to think about it yet.

I wound up not dressing up this year, just wasn’t feelin’ it at the time. However, The Hubbie (also soon to be known as _____.), a friend, my step-daughter, and her friend all dressed up and made the garage quite the fright fest!

We have been doing up the front yard area for the last three years, and every year its grown. This year we did up half the garage. Next year, who knows! People come by now because they know we have the scariest stuff in the neighborhood, and this year people were even stopping and taking pics! We got about between 100-125 kids this year. People actually drive to our neighborhood to trick or treat from other areas because our area rocks. :)

Now remember, I couldn’t get good pics actually showing how creepy it was in the dark. We had a black light on, a red light on and a fog machine. Also super creepy music blaring. No one moved a muscle, people had to approach them at their own risk…

Sinful Colors Halloween 2009 Collection Swatches and Review

Happy Friday!

One day until Halloween! I am excited about our “haunted garage” we’re doing this year. I haven’t yet done a trial run of my makeup though, so I’m kinda nervous it’s going to turn out like crap. Oh well, at least it will be dark ;-)

Today I’ve got the Sinful Colors Halloween collection for 2009. Well I have all except the basic black one, because we all know what black looks like by now.

I have only reviewed two Sinful Colors polishes in the past because I had a horrible experience once. About a year ago I tried out the San Francisco color, and used CND’s Stickey base coat and then either Seche Vite or Poshe top coat. The polish turned sticky, weird, and never, ever dried! I mean not at all. It was so bizarre! That combo did not work, so I never really tried any of their stuff since then. But I saw these, and had to get ‘em. Peep ‘em out!

Sinful Let Me Go
Let Me Go

Let Me Go is a very pale blue/pink/lavender/green opalescent pearl polish. I thought this was going to be super, duper cool when I saw it in the bottle, but it’ so sheer it’s just kinda meh for me. This was three coats.

Color Club Dark Romance Collection with China Glaze Matte Magic

The end of the week is drawing neigh…

Color Club has put out a cute collection of mini matte colors for Halloween called Dark Romance. The polishes on their own are fairly matte or kinda satiny looking, and they came with a matte top coat. However, the matte top coat that was sent turned out not to be matte after all (it was a mistake) so I tried them with China Glaze Matte Magic instead. Funnily enough, I accidentally frankened a cool color, which you’ll see below. Enjoy!

Color Club Alabaster
Alabaster

Alabaster is a pure white cream. This was a little streaky but not as bad as some whites. It isn’t flat white, you can see it has a sheen to it still. This was three coats.

China Glaze Fortune Teller Swatches and Review

Good Wednesday morning everyone!

Today I am showing you possibly the most perfect Halloween polish ever. It’s by China Glaze, and it’s called Fortune Teller. This is a Sally’s exclusive, and if you don’t have it already you must try to find it, it’s amazing!

The formula is really excellent on this, its thick and chunky, but also very opaque. You will only need two coats. It does tend to be rough feeling because of all the glitter, but a good thick top coat will help with that. Peep it out!

China Glaze Fortune Teller
Fortune Teller

Fortune Teller is a black jelly base filled with orange glitter. The glitter is both small & round AND small, medium & large hexagon shaped.  I love it, it’s quite simply perfect. As I mentioned I only needed two coats and it’s just fabulous.

I probably won’t wear polish on Halloween night as it doesn’t really go with my costume, but I might wear it the rest of Halloween weekend! Oh and in case you were wondering just what I am going to be, the plan is Anne Boleyn. I am pretty sure she didn’t wear polish, sadly. Oh and don’t worry, I will be posting pics :)

Color Club Master Of Disguise

Happy almost Friday!

Today I’ve got Color Club’s new collection of mini’s for Halloween called Master Of Disguise! I was so happy to see these because Halloween is my very favorite holiday, and this means it’s coming up soon!

As I mentioned, these are mini bottles which is probably fine since most of them aren’t colors you would probably wear every day. With one exception, which is my favorite :) Check ‘em out!

Color Club Ghost Of A Chance
Ghost Of A Chance

Ghost Of A Chance is a white creme. It’s a pretty stark white, but does seem to have a hint of cream color in it. As with most white’s it was a wee bit thick and streaky, but was decent after 3 coats.
