You know I love tokidoki, right? Well because of this Sephora Friends & Family sale going on, I decided I would pick up their new limited edition 24 Karat Skate Deck Palette.
This palette comes in the shape of a skateboard (sort of) and opens up to a mirror, 12 eyeshadows and a little charm of one of their characters Adios.
I have to say I think this palette feels pretty cheap. It’s cardboard and really light and I just get the sense that it’s not great quality. I wouldn’t want to pack this one in a suitcase or makeup bag without a lot of protection around it because it feels like it would get crushed. I think I would have preferred it to be metal, but that’s just me.
I love that on the back of the palette they give you a preview of the colors inside and the names. Very helpful!
Unicorno, Stella, Ametista, Cuore, Duna, Sabbia
Unicorno is a pale pure slightly shimmery white
Stella is a shimmery silver
Ametista is a light shimmery pinkish purple
Cuore is a pearly light pink
Duna is a pearly taupe/nude
Sabbia is a light shimmery white/cream
With the exception of Stella, all of these felt soft to the touch and nice. The pigmentation does feel a little on the light side, I was hoping to get more payoff. Stella felt a bit grittier than the others I think because it has very small glitter particles in it.
Goccia, Adios Star, Tempesta, Granata, Camo, 24 Karat
Goccia is a medium shimmery blue
Adios Star is a matte black with tiny silver glitter particles
Tempesta is a pearly dark purple
Granata is a deep shimmery mossy green
Camo is a dark pearly chocolate brown
24 Karat is a shimmery warm antique gold
While I liked all these colors in theory, in reality they just weren’t enough for me. I wanted more saturation and “POW” than I got. I feel like they are all just ok.
Not really that impressed, sadly. I really love the other tokidoki palettes I have, most had crazy saturation. These I felt were just seriously lacking in that capacity.
