OCC Nail Lacquer Fall 2010 Swatches & Review

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics keeps the new fall makeup coming with six new nail lacquer colors.

It’s funny because the five I have (I am missing one called Vintage) remind me more of spring or summer colors. But it’s all good. icon smile OCC Nail Lacquer Fall 2010 Swatches & Review

The formula of OCC nail lacquers is really nice. I don’t believe I have had any problems with them in the past and the same goes pretty much with these, except one.

Trick

Trick is a pale pink champagne shimmery frost. This isn’t my favorite color because it’s pretty sheer and I have definitely seen it before. This was three coats.

OCC Lip Tar for Fall 2010 Swatches & Review

OCC Fall Lip Tars OCC Lip Tar for Fall 2010 Swatches & Review

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics had six fabulous new Lip Tar colors out in their fall collection.

Most of these are variations of red but there are a couple other ones in there also. I was really pleased to discover that they are all really wearable colors. Nothing too shocking or over the top or neon here.

As with other Lip Tars I have reviewed in the past, these are most excellent. They apply so easily and are really creamy. You just need a SMIDGE. When I say that I am not kidding, the tiniest amount goes way farther than you would imagine.

If you don’t like peppermint, you may not like Lip Tars as they do have a rather strong peppermint scent. It does go away after a bit though.

One thing to note about the lip swatches below. The colors in real life are a little brighter than my camera picks up on (especially Trollop). The swatches on my hand are more accurate as they were taken in a light tent with a flash, so you see the brightness.

NARS Zulu Nail Polish Swatches, Review & Comparisons

NARS Zulu NARS Zulu Nail Polish Swatches, Review & Comparisons

She’s here – the mythical, mysterious, much coveted NARS Zulu!! I have had to sit on this literally for a few months now, and it’s been killing me since I know lots of you have been wondering about it!

Zulu came out a few years ago as a limited edition color. This was a color I missed and from what I have heard it sold out quickly, started selling on eBay for astronomical prices and has been a “holy grail” polish ever since. Well now NARS has brought it back as part of their Vintage Nail Collection for Fall 2010. The colors in this collection include:

  • Mash – Army green with gold shimmer (my swatch here)
  • King Kong – Copper brown with gold shimmer
  • Midnight Express - Dark navy creme
  • Zulu – Dark forest green jelly
  • Full Metal Jacket – Gunmetal grey metallic

This collection is limited edition. Stores will sell it for 3 months and NARS will sell it on their website until they run out of stock.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Loose Colour Concentrates for Fall 2010

OCC Pigments Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Loose Colour Concentrates for Fall 2010

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (aka OCC) has six new loose colour concentrates (aka pigments) out for fall and I’ve got ‘em for ya today!

OCC’s pigments are micro-refined, lightweight and very pigmented. The containers are 2.5 grams, which is a pretty good amount considering you only need a little and it goes a long way. Oh and yay for sifters!

As with most pigments there is a little fall-out, so make sure you are careful with application or use over a sticky-like base.

The colors are:

  • Obscure – white with teal reflects
  • Twirl – pale peach shimmer
  • Swag – gold/green duochrome
  • Smote – taupe with plum shimmer
  • Dope – golden bronze
  • Saturate – teal with green reflects
