Physicians Formula is really stepping it up lately with their cosmetics! I never used to be attracted to anything they offered but recently I came across this beauty in the drugstore and wanted to try it out.

This is from the Shimmer Strips Pop collection, and this is for blue eyes. Of course really anyone can wear it, but these colors happen to really make blue eyes especially POP!

There are nine shadows in this palette and it comes with a little (useless) sponge applicator.

I don’t know why, but I was expecting these colors to fall flat. I expected chalkiness and just general “blah”. I was sooooooo wrong. Compared with most other drugstore shadows I have tried these might be the best.

First of all they are very soft and smooth. No gritty feeling, no chalkiness, no patchiness. Secondly, they are very opaque. Just a couple swipes (and just one for a couple of them) and you have major saturated color. Love!

Hard Candy has recently made a comeback at Walmart stores across America. Two weeks ago while in Alabama, I tried to beat the heat by browsing the local Walmart for cool “southern” cosmetic goodies. I was dismayed to discover that they didn’t have anything there that wasn’t already at my local Walmart. Oh well! I did happen to walk by the rather large Hard Candy section and saw these puppies , which I hadn’t noticed at my store.

These are the Meteor-eyes Baked Glitter Eyeshadows and don’t they look amazing? Who could pass up these gorgeous, glittery, colorful babies?

Well now I kinda wish I had because these are all about the packaging and names rather than nice eyeshadow texture and color.

They look like they would be super pigmented and colorful, right? Well there are good things and bad things here, depending on which color you are talking about. A couple of them have a pretty paltry color payoff. The glitter in these is pretty messy and doesn’t “stay with” the shadow. In other words: fallout central.

Now granted I think you can probably use these wet or dry, and I only tried dry. Usually using these types of shadows wet gives you more pigment and helps keep the glitter on your eyes rather than all over your face. Also using a MAC paint pot in a nude shade will help it stick.

Good afternoon!

So when I was browsing Sephora’s website recently I came across a new eyeshadow palette by Kat Von D called Memento Mori, and I knew right away it needed to be mine. I love her palettes, I have all of them except True Love. Not only did the colors totally call to me, but you see, the colors in this palette are named after famous Day of the Dead skulls, and if you guys have been reading my blog for awhile, you know I love Day of the Dead stuff.

Memento Mori comes from a Latin phrase that means “remember that you will die”.

The first thing that drew me in was the packaging of course. All her other palettes are black, but this one really stands out with the white case and blue Day of the Dead artwork that of course, looks like an old school tattoo.
