China Glaze Island Escape China Glaze Island Escape for Summer 2011 Swatches, Photos & Review

Just the name of China Glaze’s new collection for summer 2011 makes me want to drop everything and go: Island Escape.

Ahhh it conjures up images of white sand beaches, hammocks tied in-between palm trees gently swaying the in breeze and nothing but the sound of the warm ocean water lapping at the shore nearby…Can you tell I desperately need a vacation? icon smile China Glaze Island Escape for Summer 2011 Swatches, Photos & Review

Island Escape features six new colors, all really summer appropriate:

  • 108 Degrees: Flirtatious berry pink with specks of micro glitter
  • Senorita Bonita: Passionate purple shimmer with pink micro glitter
  • Blue Iguana: Bold and daring sparkly blue

China Glaze Crackle Collection for Spring 2011 Swatches & Review

China Glaze Crackle1 China Glaze Crackle Collection for Spring 2011 Swatches & Review

They’reeeeee heeeerrrreeeee! I have been really excited about China Glaze Crackle ever since I first saw the promo pics. I love all the possibilities with these and the effect is just so cool.

They come in six colors, all being creme except for one which is shimmery.

  • Lightning Bolt – White Crackle
  • Black Mesh – Black Crackle
  • Broken Hearted - Pink Crackle
  • Cracked Concrete – Grey Crackle
  • Fault Line – Purple Crackle
  • Crushed Candy – Teal Crackle

There is no real trick to these but you do have to wait until your polish is dry before applying them. If you do a thin coat you get less cracks, and if you do a thicker coat you get more of a crack effect.

The polishes are a little thick, but not hard to work with. I found that not a lot gets on the brush initially, so it’s easy to get thinner layers, and harder to do thicker ones.

I decided to swatch all the Crackle’s over other China Glaze colors to keep everything consistent. icon smile China Glaze Crackle Collection for Spring 2011 Swatches & Review

China Glaze Anchors Away Spring 2011 Swatches & Review – Part II

Mornin’ icon smile China Glaze Anchors Away Spring 2011 Swatches & Review Part II

No time for dilly dallying today, so here is part II of China Glaze Anchors Away for spring 2011.

These had better color payoff than the first 6 I showed. Most were opaque in two coats, as opposed to part I which were mostly three. All the cremes were really shiny as well.

Starboard

Starboard is a medium shamrock green creme. This wound up being nicer on me than I expected. It looks fabulous with my skin tone and it applied like butter. This was two coats.

China Glaze Anchors Away Spring 2011 Swatches & Review – Part I

Happy Tuesday!

As you have probably already heard, China Glaze has a new twelve piece collection for spring 2011 called Anchors Away.

This collection underwhelmed me a bit, to be completely honest. There is no single color in it that made me extremely excited, most were just “nice”. I’m not sure why, but it is what it is. icon wink China Glaze Anchors Away Spring 2011 Swatches & Review Part I

Today I have part I for ya, check them out.

Sunset Sail

Sunset Sail is a light peach with subtle silver shimmer. I thought it was going to be a lot more sheer than it wound up being, but I did use three coats. I actually like it more than I initially anticipated on me also.
