China Glaze Fight Like A Woman Collection Swatches & Review

Believe it or not, October is fast approaching. October is not just for Halloween, but also is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

China Glaze has a new collection called Fight Like A Woman that was created to bring awareness about breast cancer. They will give a portion of proceeds to the International Agency for Research on Cancer.

You may or not may know this, but I hear about breast cancer every single day when I’m at work. I work for a Biotechnology company that makes a widely used breast cancer drug, so it’s definitely not a topic I only think about one month a year. But I do think it’s great when companies try to help out in any way they can by raising awareness.

The formula on these was really totally fabulous, not a problem to report.

Encouragement

Encouragement is a light baby pink with silver shimmer. How can I put this…I LOVE THIS COLOR! Really. I saw the 3 pinks, and I knew they would be pink because that’s the color of breast cancer awareness, and I didn’t expect to totally love any of them. But I do. This reminds me of the dress the good witch Glinda wore in The Wizard Of Oz, all sparkly and pretty. :) This was on the more sheer side, but I used three coats and I think it looks great.

China Glaze Vintage Vixen for Fall 2010 Swatches & Review

Good evening!

I was so excited about these I swatched them as soon as I got them this afternoon, and wanted to post them as soon as possible.

This of course is China Glaze’s new Vintage Vixen collection for fall 2010. Yes fall. Already. We are not even into summer yet, but fall colors abound. But you know what? That’s fine with me because the fall collections are always my favorite. That’s when we see most of the darker and more weird colors come out, which I adore.

I must admit when I saw promo pics of these and heard the word “frost” being tossed about, I wasn’t all that thrilled. But it turns out I REALLY like the majority of this collection and was pleasantly surprised how un-frosty they turned out to be. They are more metallic than frost.

This collection comes in two separate sets, but I am showing them all to you now. Just so you have the info, here is how the sets are broken down:

Part 1 includes:

  • Classic Camel
  • Swing Baby
  • Ingrid
  • Goin’ My Way?
  • Foxy
  • Riveter Rogue

Part 2 includes:

  • Hey Doll
  • Bogie
  • Emerald Fitzgerald
  • First Class Ticket
  • Midnight Mission
  • Jitterbug

The formula was totally great on almost all of these. I had no problems with any of them but some were more opaque than others.

Check them out below!

Classic Camel

Classic Camel is a khaki/yellow/beige color with gold glitter flecks. This has a very warm yellow base but surprisingly didn’t totally clash with my skin. I was most excited about this color because it looked the most unusual from the promo pics. I was right! This was two coats.

China Glaze Poolside Collection Summer 2010 Swatches & Review

Good morning!

China Glaze has a great new collection for summer 2010 called Poolside. It’s made up of six new neon colors.

As you probably know, neons are very hard to capture correctly on camera and so these are actually a lot brighter than they appear here!

The formula on these was decent, not great. They were all three coats and I could have used four on one or two to get them slightly more even. Also you will notice that they have a matte finish, which is typical of neons before you add a top coat.

Let me know what you think!

Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

Yellow Polka Dot Bikini is a bright highlighter yellow. This is SO much brighter than this picture depicts, it’s really blinding in the sun! This is one that I could have used another coat on, but I already did three. You can still faintly see the VNL here.

China Glaze Up & Away Spring 2010 Collection Swatches & Review – Part II

Hey everyone!

I have part II of China Glaze’s Up & Away spring 2010 collection for you today.

These are also all cremes, but they are brights, not pastels like the ones yesterday. Needless to say these all applied a lot less streaky than the pastels did. They were mostly two coats compared to mostly there coats with part I. Peep ‘em!

China Glaze Happy Go Lucky
Happy Go Lucky

Happy Go Lucky is a sunny yellow that’s on the cusp of being too warm for me. This was much less streaky than Lemon Fizz, but Lemon Fizz looks better for my skin tone.
