BB Couture Cantina Collection Swatches & Review

Morning!

It’s been a seriously hellish weekend for me, hope yours was better. We are preparing the house for new carpet in almost the whole house, so we actually have to pack everything as though we are moving out, YUCK! Hello knick-knacks, sigh. Also we are painting the office, 3rd bedroom and hallway before the carpet goes in so as you can imagine, it’s a lot of work in a few days time. I will show pics of the fresh paint when it’s all done because hey, it might not be polish, but it is colorful paint still!

As you might know, BB Couture has two new collections out right now. One is The Saints Of Ruin which I just reviewed the other day. The one I am showing today is called Cantina. This is much more of a classic “summer” collection, meaning bright, fun, cheerful colors and fun finishes.

I did have an issue about the formula on a few of these not because they were hard to apply, but because they were too sheer for my tastes. But to each his/her own!

Pina Colada

Pina Colada is a very pale, lemon yellow with yellow glitter. As you can see, this is very sheer. I think it could look cool over black or something though. This was three coats.

BB Couture Saints Of Ruin Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Friday!

I’ve got a really cool brand spankin’ new BB Couture collection for you right now. It’s called Saints of Ruin and it’s comprised of 6 new very dark, delicious colors.

It’s not what you think of when you think of summer, but that’s what’s great about it! But I will be swatching their other new collection, Cantina Nights, which is more summery ASAP.

The formula on these was really great as usual. They were pretty opaque I only needed three coats on one of them. The metallic ones aren’t very streaky at all, which is nice.

Check them out!

Dying Time

Dying Time is a dark, steel grey metallic with flecks of pink, green and blue shimmer. It’s great because it’s a SUPER dark grey and the colored flecks make it more interesting than a plain old metallic. This was two coats.

BB Couture Men’s Formal Collection Swatches & Review

Good morning!

Today is kind of a sad day because yesterday one of my childhood musical icons passed away from stomach cancer at the young age of 67. His name was Ronnie James Dio and he was the singer of Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Dio. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I listened to his music, and I was lucky enough to see him in 1985. Your music will live on forever RJD!

Ok now onto the polish! Today I’ve got BB Couture’s new collection called Men’s Formal.

This is yet another stunning cool collection from BB. They keep coming and more are on the horizon!

The formula on these was really great, as always. A few were a wee bit streaky but nothing to complain much about.

Let’s take a peek!

Award Medal

Award Medal is a shimmery greenish/khaki/gold color with a purple duochrome effect. It’s really gorgeous and you have to see it in person to really “get it”. This was three coats.

BB Couture Ladybug Collection for Spring 2010 Swatches & Review

Happy April Fools Day!

Remember the other day when I posted a fabulous new spring collection from BB Couture? Well I have another new one from them today! Don’t they rock? They just keep ‘em coming.

This is called the Ladybug collection and it’s also six new colors.

Ladybug is filled with mostly fairly sheer colors. I used three coats for all of these except one, and probably could have used 4 on some! That’s my only problem with the formula, otherwise they applied very nicely.

Take a looksee…

BB Couture Daisy Dweller BB Couture Ladybug Collection for Spring 2010 Swatches & Review
Daisy Dweller

Daisy Dweller is a warm sunny yellow with gold and silver shimmer. For my skin tone this does not work at all, it’s just too warm. But I still really like it and wish it was a color I could wear. This was three coats and you can still see a slight VNL.

BB Couture Butterfly Collection for Spring 2010 Swatches & Review

One of my very favorite nail polish companies has come out with another incredible collection for spring. BB Couture keeps the hits coming with the Butterfly collection. Not only is it incredible, it’s NOT pastel or neon, hallelujah!

Can I just tell you that nail fanatics who have access to BB Couture and haven’t yet tried them are insane?? Seriously you MUST get some of their polish.

The formula on these was pretty darn good with a couple (small) issues.

Peep ‘em and weep people! (I wanted to say weeple haha!)

BB Couture Emperor BB Couture Butterfly Collection for Spring 2010 Swatches & Review
Emperor

Emperor is a peach with gold shimmer. This is SUPER cheery and spring-ish. I SO heart this color I can’t even explain. I am really into the peaches this year! What I love about this color is the shimmer in it. We have seen a few really nice peaches, but they have been cremes. This was a little sheer going on so I used three coats.
