Barielle High Steppin’ Collection for Summer 2010 Swatches & Review

Friday is finally here, let’s all breathe a sigh of relief!

Barielle’s new summer collection for 2010 is called High Steppin’ and it’s a nice departure from most other collections we have seen so far this season.

This is made up of metallic colors, inspired by the disco era and not necessarily all colors you think of when you think summer. I definitely appreciate that because after awhile the same colors get to be so boring!

These are metallics and as we all know, they have a tendency to be streaky. I don’t have any major complaints here with the formula, just some small ones that aren’t a big deal.

Barielle Belly Dance Barielle High Steppin Collection for Summer 2010 Swatches & Review
Belly Dance

Belly Dance is a pale taupe with silver shimmer. This went on pretty sheer, but built up nicely after three coats. I don’t love this one personally, it’s a little too nude for me, but it’s still pretty. Very conservative office friendly I think.

Barielle Wildflower Collection for Spring 2010 Swatches and Review

Mornin’!

Barielle has come out with a very interesting collection for spring 2010 called Wildflower. It’s six colors in a range of finishes, which is kinda cool. There are two glitter ones that are particularly unique!

The formula on these was kind of all over the map for me. Some were great, one was a nightmare and others were good.

Anyway, check this collection out!

Barielle Blossom Barielle Wildflower Collection for Spring 2010 Swatches and Review
Blossom

Blossom is a pale peach creme. This one gave me serious issues. This polish was so thick I had a very hard time getting it even. I waited about 90 seconds in-between coats, but whenever I put down the next coat it would get even thicker and harder to manage. After three coats it was basically even but you can see towards the tips (mostly on pointer and pinkie) that it’s quite thick and “gloopy”. I was really irked about this because I love the color itself.

Barielle All Lacquered Up Collection for Fall 2009 – Part II

Here we go with Part II of Barielle’s All Lacquered Up collection for fall 2009. There are quite a few that I really love in this set and not a single one that I didn’t like or that didn’t flatter me. Totally spot on! Peep ‘em out!

Barielle Putt E On Me Barielle All Lacquered Up Collection for Fall 2009 Part II
Putt-E-On Me

Putt-E-On Me is a fabulous mushroom taupe creme. If you have been reading my blog for awhile, you know that mushroom colored polishes are some of my very fav and now this one joined the rest of them. There is something that’s so “out of the norm” with colors like this and that’s why I like them. I like wearing colors that you won’t see people like Dina Lohan or Paris Hilton’s mother wearing (yuck). This was creamy and opaque in just two coats.

Barielle All Lacquered Up Collection for Fall 2009 – Part I

TGIF! As you might have already heard, Barielle and Michelle from All Lacquered Up collaborated together on a really great collection for fall 2009. They came up with 12 polishes and I have to say there isn’t a single one that I didn’t like. A couple weren’t suited to my taste or skin tone, but all were really nice colors and a few knocked my socks off!

Today I am bringing you the first six in this collection. A word about formula. Fab. Barielle has a great formula and these are no exception. Almost all were just two coats. Check them out and see if you like!

Barielle Slate Of Affairs Barielle All Lacquered Up Collection for Fall 2009 Part I
Slate Of Affairs

Slate Of Affairs is a nice dusty slate blue with a pearl shimmer that flashes different colors, depending on the lighting. It’s very unique and totally suits my skin tone. This was three coats as it was a little more sheer than some of the others.
