Vampy Varnish Poll

Vampy Poll Vampy Varnish Poll

I haven’t done one of these in awhile so I thought it would be fun to get back in the swing of things and do more polls!

  1. What’s your mood today?
    Too early to tell!

  2. What color polish do you have on?
    China Glaze Shower Together
  3. Pepsi, Coke or Dr. Pepper?
Dr. Pepper all the way! I am a huge Dr. Pepper fan and especially now that the new cherry one is out! Though I must say, I am also a huge Cherry Coke fan and choose Coke over Pepsi FO SHO!
  4. What has been your favorite Spring/Summer polish collection so far?
There have been a lot of really great ones so this is tough. I think my favorite collection as a whole is Barielle’s Sugar Rush and a VERY close second is Precision’s Color FX. My favorite individual color this season (right now, my mind changes every 20 seconds or so)  is China Glaze Custom Kicks.
  5. What do you do for a living?
    Executive Slave Assistant
  6. What is your fantasy job?
I have so many, I am not kidding. Here goes. Working with animals, novelist, editor at fashion magazine, owner/baker of cupcake shop, makeup artist, web designer, movie script writer and movie set designer, to name a few. Of course I am doing nothing really related to any of those!
  7. What’s your least favorite nail polish brand and why?
I have not had great experiences with Sinful Colors. Last time I tried San Francisco with the CND Stickey base coat and Poshe top coat, it never dried! It was a sticky mess!
  8. How many nail polishes do you own?
I am now at over 600!
  9. iPhone or Blackberry?
iPhone any day of the week. I am a huge Apple fan and also LOVE my iMac and Powerbook Pro!
  10. Do you have a favorite author?

I am an avid reader and have been since age four. I don’t know that I can pick one particular author. I love everything from Stephen King to Jodi Picoult, James Frey to Philippa Gregory and  J.K. Rowling to James Patterson! I can tell you that three of my favorite books are To Kill a Mockingbird, Lord of the Flies and The Outsiders.

O2 Skin Nail Polish

My awesome friend in China recently gifted me with this little beauty from a nail polish line over there called O2 Skin. You can’t get them in America or elsewhere as far as I know, but if you Google them you can find some sites that show all their cool colors so if you live in China or are going to that area you might be able to score! She sent me this because she knows of my undying love for all things Olive and Khaki colored and this fits the bill! Thanks again!

O2 Skin O2 Skin Nail Polish

I have no idea what this one is called as there wasn’t a name on it anywhere but I love it! It’s a gold color with a definite hint of olive green to it. It also has really small glitter particles that are blue, pink and green. The finish is somewhat metallic, but I had no streaky problems and I only needed two coats. I really like the rectangle bottle shape, which reminds me of butter LONDON, but the wand and handle on this is MUCH better and the top screws on easily and cleanly.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polish

I recently decided to ignore my disdain for drug store nail polish and pick up some of the new Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polishes. I bravely looked past the hideous 1984 looking triangle shaped bottles and saw some truly gorgeous looking colors. The fact that they are cheap ($5.49) and quick drying didn’t hurt either!

One thing that was a little strange at first was the brush. It’s very wide and tapered and I thought there was no way I could get it to apply nicely. I was wrong, it actually worked out perfectly. The polishes were all opaque in two coats. I must let you know that I wore Jumpin’ Jade recently as a mani and it chipped within 24 hours. However, I wore Uptempo Plum as a pedi for a good 2 weeks with no problems. Other people have said these can last up to 5 days, so I think it all depends on the person wearing it (and how much you wash your hands, which I do A LOT). Check ‘em out!

Blue Streak is a very nice shade of icy blue. The finish is shimmery yet also metallic. I didn’t have any streaking issues with it, which was great. They aren’t kidding when they say “Insta-Dri” these dried seriously quick, like within 2 minutes!

New Header!

You have probably noticed that I
have a new header. This one is in honor of the month of May and my trip
to England in a few weeks. As you can tell, I am super excited about
it! I also wanted to try out my newly acquired Photoshop skillz. I will
be doing a new one every month (or more) so I hope you like ‘em!

One
fun thing you might want to know about when I am in London is that I am
going to Selfridge’s (which is kind of like Sephora) and a meeting with
a representative from Illamasqua! She will be showing me their line of
products in the store. I plan on doing a great blog post with pics to
show all those who can’t make it to a Selfridge’s. I can’t wait!

Have a good one!
