piCture pOlish Hope is a shade by blogger Be from Vernis en Folie.

The inspiration for the shade name was the impending birth of Be’s daughter, who was born this year. The color is a deep blue with scattered holographic glitter. It covers beautifully in two coats.

The base of Hope is a really pretty dark teal blue. It has tons of scattered holographic glitter throughout and some larger blue hex glitter chunks. It’s a jelly formula but covers completely in two coats.

The only issue I had with the formula was getting some of the larger blue glitter pieces to get out of the bottle and onto my nail. I had to shake it up a bit to get them moved around from one area of the bottle. But give the bottle a good shake-up and you should be good to go!

bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick is new this summer and it comes in 18 saturated shades!

This lipstick is creamy, moisturizing, pigmented and has a full-coverage satin finish. It contains minerals, oils and fatty acids to help make your pout as supple as can be, and also vitamins A, C and E for antioxidant defense.

The lipstick comes in a shiny black bullet different from any other I have seen before. You push the silver button, pull it down and the lipstick releases from the bottom. Push it back in and click it into place to ensure the lid won’t come off. Cool stuff!

Fly High is a pink/lavender creme. Very feminine, cool-toned and pretty. It doesn’t look too whitened or weird on (think MAC Nicki Minaj pink shades). It does settle into lip lines a little bit.

Never Say Never is a bright fuchsia pink. I love this shade because it’s the perfect shade of pink. It’s fun, summery and bright but not over the top bright.

Go The Distance is a tangerine/coral creme. Another one I really love because it’s soft yet still vivid and so pretty.

Call The Shots is a bright scarlet red. Shiny, moist and cool-toned. Fabulous shade!

Overall: Love these! Not only are the shades really nice, the texture is really creamy and soft. They feel super comfortable on the lips and don’t have any funky smell or taste. Great for parched lips like mine.

Chanel Azuré and Bel-Argus Le Vernis are new limited edition shades in the summer 2013 L’Ete Papillon de Chanel collection. In fact there is also another shade called Lilus which is a coral creme.

I initially saw many swatches of these when they first came out and didn’t think they looked all that spectacular. However when I was at Nordstrom this past weekend and walked past them, I decided to stop and swatch for myself. I was fairly blown away by how gorgeous they were! It took me all of 1 minute to decide I needed them both in my collection!

Azuré is a stunning intense metallic duochrome. The colors shift from a beautiful ocean blue to a green teal shade. It’s a really strong duochrome effect, which I love. I look at it and immediately think about tropical vacations and the ocean.

The formula is a tiny bit brush-stroke-y but nothing too bad if you work slowly. It was just two coats. My swatches don’t do this shade justice, as did none of the others I’ve seen. It’s just too pretty for photographs!

Bel-Argus is a deep, intense navy blue metallic. I know what you are thinking. A metallic navy blue, gee that’s original. NOT. But really, I thought the same thing then I saw how sparkly and jewel-toned it looked on me. I almost passed on it, but am really glad I didn’t because I really love it. It’s another shade that speaks of deep blue oceans and pristine islands.

This had the same slight brush-stroke-y application issues as Azure, but not that big a deal. This was two coats.

Overall: Well I must admit I did NOT really have the funds to be getting these right now, but I am still happy I did. I am really loving both of these shades and think I will get lots of wear from them!

piCture pOlish Atomic by Samarium’s Swatches is a somewhat complex silvery white glittery sparkly shade.

This shade was created by the lovely Sarah from the blog Samarium’s Swatches, of course. She was inspired by the element Samarium, which is a hard silvery colored metal. When it’s exposed to air it oxidizes into a grey/gold powder, which helps explain the shimmer in the polish. So scientific!

The great thing about this shade is it can be worn on its own or layered over many other shades to create gorgeous effects! Sarah shows you a bunch of layering options on her initial post about the shade here.

Atomic has a silvery white base color, but the sparkle within is really pretty and multi-colored. You see flecks of gold, pink, blue and green in it. It changes in various lighting and the flakes are irregular shapes, which are my favorite kind!

It does take a good three thin coats to get it covered over my nail line, but that’s typical for me anyway, so no big deal.
