Jessica Cosmetics Baby It’s Cold Outside Collection for Winter 2009 Swatches and Review

Good afternoon!

Jessica Cosmetics has a really great new winter 2009 collection called Baby It’s Cold Outside. It consists of four new colors, all total hits in my book.

The formula is pretty great on these. Not too thick, not too thin, just right. They were all three coaters for maximum opacity, but that’s ok with me. Take a look-see!

Frost At All Cost is a subdued dark teal with very slight shimmer. This one leans towards the blue side of teal and I LOVE it. Totally gorgeous and unique to me.

OPI Holiday Wishes for Winter 2009 Swatches and Review – Part I

Hey there!

Today I will be showing you the first half of my swatches of OPI’s new winter 2009 collection called Holiday Wishes.

Holiday Wishes is comprised of a lot of reds, and then quite a few interesting colors that I wouldn’t normally think OPI would do. The finishes are super cool and different on a lot of them.

As far as formula, these are all on the thicker side, but also nice and opaque in just two coats for most. Let’s take a peek!

OPI Ginger Bells!
Ginger Bells!

Ginger Bells! is a, um, ginger colored creme? Don’t know how else to describe it! Kind of gingerbread cookie-esque. I actually really didn’t like it until the third coat, and I still kind of think it’s just meh. Maybe it just doesn’t look good on me. As I said, this was three coats.

Jessica Social Lights Nail Polish Swatches and Review

Friday is here finally!

I can’t even believe I am showing you HOLIDAY stuff already seeing as it just turned to fall and it’s still hot here in the Bay Area. But I have quite a backlog gathering up of holiday collections now I so thought I better start swatching them before spring 2010 sneaks up on me :)

This limited edition collection from Jessica is called Social Lights. The bottles are so freakin cute, shaped like little colorful light bulbs.

The formula on these is decent, if not a little thick. You will definitely want to wait a couple minutes between coats on these (especially Starlet) or they tend to get clumpy and weird at the tip.

Zoya MatteVelvet Winter 2009

It’s hump day and I am BRIMMING with excitement over what I have to show you today! I was so freakin excited about these that the second I got home yesterday and saw them, I ripped into the package and immediately started swatching them. Ok, I did it after I fed my dog and cats, but still!

Zoya introduces us to three new fabulous MatteVelvet limited edition colors for winter 2009. These are no ordinary matte’s, these my friends, are the creme of the crop, the coup du grace, the topping on the ice cream sundae, you get my drift.

You have seen a lot of matte polishes lately, but you haven’t seen mattes like these yet. The colors are gorgeous and would be no matter what finish they were. But the fact that they are matte makes them that much more interesting.

The formula is fantastic. They are totally opaque in two coats and dry quick but not the second you lay down the polish. Have a peek!

Zoya Harlow

Harlow is a rose colored pink matte with shimmer. Totally beautiful, this was the one I expected to like the least but wound up liking 2nd best!
