NP Set It Takes Two Concealer and Foundation Pot is a pretty cool idea and I think more companies need to jump on this bandwagon.
What it is, is a jar of foundation with a container attached to the lid that has concealer and a little mirror inside. It’s all-in-one! I love that because it’s compact, takes up less space and if you travel, makes it super handy to pack.
The foundation “sets” are very limited in shades though including only Light, Medium and Dark.
The one I tested out is in Light (very yellow based) and it still might be a smidge too dark for my skintone, but pretty close to matching.
The concealer which is housed in the lid is a pretty pale color, much lighter than the foundation itself.
I must admit, while I like the packaging I am not a fan of the spatula-like applicator that comes with the foundation. It’s very awkward and strange. I basically dipped my brush into what was on the spatula and applied it to my face that way.
As you can see, the concealer is very pale light color, which actually is a decent color for me. This is the white part and nude part combined. The concealer is very sheer though, and it pretty much did nothing to conceal any dark areas under my eyes. For that area I almost always use a pink colored corrector.
The foundation is really quite yellow, which works with my skin but definitely won’t for a lot of people. I mentioned above the color looks fairly dark here on my hand, but it almost works perfectly on my face. It does a good job of evening out my skin and doesn’t feel too heavy or mask-like. It’s not my favorite foundation by a long-shot, but works decently.
As far as packaging I love the idea except for the spatula applicator. The line is so limited in color-range though, so I think that will create problems for people. The other issue is the price. Again, spending $35 for a beauty item at Target seems way high, whereas if I was at Nordstrom it wouldn’t seem bad at all.
