It’s been awhile since I did an update on Parker the pup. But he’s not so much of a pup anymore, wah! He turned one in January. Well that’s what we are guessing since he was 8 or 9 months old when we got him in August.
So he’s been great! He’s quite gigantic now. He’s probably tripled in size since we got him and I am estimating that he’s around 55-60 pounds now. He’s super thin still so he may have some filling out to do. I think Border Collies are still kind of considered pups until 1 1/2 or 2 years old.
He sure looooves his Frisbee and running around the backyard.
He’s incredibly smart, as I would expect from his breed. He’s also got that agility instinct. We were at the park last weekend and he effortlessly leaped over a high-ish fence when we asked him to.
He is the SWEETEST DOG on planet earth! He still just loves his people and wants to be with us at all times. He is ok by himself when we are gone though, so that’s good. I think it helps that he has the cats around him.
He’s a major snuggler. He always wants to be on the couch right next to us or on the bed.
He still hasn’t lifted his leg to pee though! He’s seen other male dogs doing it at daycare, but that hasn’t registered yet. He has yet to go to the bathroom in public also. I am pretty sure it’s a rescue dog thing because his confidence is lower than other dogs I’ve had, and he’s more on the timid side. Not sure how to tackle this issue, anyone have any ideas?
I didn’t realize when I took this that his tongue was covered with grass, haha!
He’s really turned out to be the best dog I could ever have hoped for. 😀
