TGIF!

Today is the best Friday ever for me as I am off work for 8 weeks! Yahoooooo!

Won’t you join me for a few in the Friday poll?

1. How was your week? Extremely stressful and awful but getting better now. I feel like I might be getting a cold though.
2. What is your Saturday morning ritual? I usually wake up between 8:30-9:30. I then put on a pair of PJ pants (I sleep in t-shirt), slippers and then I shuffle into the kitchen for my coffee. Then I normally boot up Nessie (my computer) and look at emails, blog comments, Facebook and Twitter. Sometimes I eat breakfast sometimes I just have coffee until lunch time.
3. What’s on your nails? Qtica strengthening stuff and that’s it.
4. What’s your outfit for today? PJ’s and sweats today
5. When it comes to boots, do you prefer: ankle booties, mid-calf, knee-high or thigh-high? I am a mid-calf kinda gal, though I do have some knee-high boots. I was really anti-bootie until recently, when I’ve seen some cute ones in the fall magazines. Thigh-high is definitely not my style and I think should be reserved for super tall women. 1. How was your week?
   Good. Seemed a little frantic and crazy at times, but overall not too shabby.
2. What’s on your lips?
   Just Jack Black lip balm.
3. What’s on your nails?
   Qtica Natural Nail Growth Stimulator. My nails are wrecked, I think I am allergic to something, so I am hoping this will help.
4. Summer ends in a month (officially) what are your plans for wrapping it up?
   Uhhhh nothing? I will be off work for awhile starting Labor Day and the Bay Area’s best weather months are September & October. So I plan to soak up as much of the lovely last rays of summer as I can (with sunscreen on).
5. Whatcha reading right now?
   The Devil’s Hour by J. Carson Black. It’s the third in a cop series which I discovered on Kindle. The first one was just .99 and the others I think $4.00 and they are pretty good! Continue reading »

Happy Friday!

I hope your week is winding down and you’re getting ready to have some fun or rest & relaxation.

1. How was your week?
   My week was ok, a bit slow and boring though. Still waiting for summer to hit the Bay Area. I have used my AC just twice, and that BUGS me because I like it hot!
2. Do you ever take baths?
   I haven’t taken a bath since I got my hot tub 3 years ago. But before that I did occasionally take baths and would just read and relax.
3. What’s on your nails?
   China Glaze Calcium Gel.
4. How often do you shave?
   I am lazy and get up way too early to shave, so I usually shave on Saturdays and that’s it.
5. Have you ever had your legs/armpits/or “Brazilian” area waxed? How was your experience?
   Nope! I have been curious but it seems like too much upkeep.

Welcome to Friday, I hope your week was nice.

This week’s poll is all about fruit! I am trying to keep with a summery theme here, so I figured fruit is a good one.

1. How was your week?
   My week was short and went by fast. As you read this I am at Blogher, which is a huge blogging conference in San Diego. Hopefully I am learning some new things!
2. What is your very favorite fruit?
   I think it’s gotta be a ripe, juicy peach.
3. What’s on your nails today?
   China Glaze Trendsetter.
4. What’s your least favorite fruit?
   Not a fan of honeydew melon. It seems very tasteless to me and I don’t really like the texture.
5. You must choose: Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries or blueberries?
   Raspberries!
6. Do you find that you eat more fruit in the summer months?
   Yes for sure. I eat a lot of berries, peaches, plums, nectarines and cherries in the summer compared to the rest of the year.
7. How do you like your fruit: Ripe, underripe or overripe?
   Ripe. I cannot stand when I bite into a peach and it’s mealy or not juicy!
8. What is your favorite way to incorporate fruit into a dish?
   I really like nectarines in cereal, though that’s not really a “dish”.
9. Are you a fan of fruit mixed with chocolate?
   Not really. I do like raspberries with dark chocolate, but there isn’t any other fruit I like with it.
10. What are your weekend plans?
    I’ll be at Blogher all weekend. Hopefully though I’ll get some R&R time here also though.

Welcome to the book edition of the VV Friday Poll!

I read a lot. Always have, always will. Reading is pretty much the ONLY thing that keeps me somewhat sane during my 2 1/2 commute every day. I thought this would make a great topic for my poll since a lot of people read lounging about at the beach or pool (or hot sweaty train commutes) in the summer.

1. How was your week? Anything exciting happen?
   Nothing much exciting happened really. Same ‘ole, same ‘ole.
2. What book(s) are you currently reading?
   I started A Clash Of Kings (book 2 in the Game Of Thrones series) but haven’t been able to get into it. I am also reading Room, which is pretty good so far and written from a very unique perspective.
3. What’s on your nails today?
   Just Seche Vite Rebuild.
4. Do you have a favorite book you re-read over and over?
   The Outsiders and The Stand have been read MANY times. I have re-read a ton of books though, sometimes new ones just cannot compare.
5. Do you use an e-reader, regular books or both?
   I use both. I will never, ever stop buying books because I collect them and have thousands, but I love how light the e-readers are (especially for commuting purposes). Continue reading »
