Hello Vampy Varnish readers!

We are off to a blazing start here at NYFCW, and have secured incredible pre-production footage of my meetings with top designers Lisa Mayock (Vena Cava) and Jen Kao about F/W 2010 nail looks and trends, custom nail lacquer mixing process, and other great goss. Had an early start today, as Anna Wintour suddenly decided to view the Vena Cava collection privately at 8:00 am!! It was all hands on desk to get the fit models ready for her arrival.

Off to meet with Alexander Wang in the morning to decide hair, makeup and nail look for Saturday’s show.

Hi everyone!

Dear Readers:

Despite being a techno-phobe who cries pathetically at her desk when she can’t open an attachment, I have become rather enthralled by the world of blogging.

I find it completely romantic that anyone, anywhere can write about their life and loves and that strangers around the world listen and respond.  Now, I don’t have the nerve to actually write one myself, since it would require some basic knowledge of computers that would force me out of my fabulously “vintage” view on technology, but I jumped on the opportunity to connect with Kelly and VV when she sent out a simple tweet about guest blogging.

As Founding Creative Director, my life and love is butter LONDON, and I’d like to invite you all to join me at NY Fashion Week through Vampy Varnish. I’ll be heading backstage for my 26th season! You see, looong before the birth of butter LONDON, I was a manicurist and nail technician in London, specializing in high fashion.

Stories? Sure, how much time have you got? Like the time I told one of the world’s most famous stylists that his latest Eva Herzigova cover had nails  “like dirty Lee Press-Ons”.  I was 25, and thought he was a makeup ASSISTANT. Oh Dear.

Or perhaps that wonderful moment when a notorious rock star passed out in the middle of her manicure?  Should I stop filing? Should I go ahead and paint? Should I look for her PJs?

Join me and butter LONDON as we tackle the world of high fashion from under a makeup table – struggling to polish a twitchy teen model clutching a Redbull. The shows and designers we work with will influence the nail lacquer colours that I create for you next season, and I’d be delighted to take you on the journey of their invention.

I didn’t want to write this post, but they left me no choice. I emailed them twice at the email address on their website which is opinails@gmail.com and also emailed them via their Facebook page, but they never responded after more than a week, so here we are.

Victoria’s Beauty has not only taken MANY nail bloggers photos (with no credit to them), but they also stamped their own company logo on the pictures! This makes me insanely furious because people put a lot of time and effort into swatching and taking these pics and they just yank them off Google (or wherever) and put their mark on them as though it belongs to them. Almost every OPI and China Glaze has my picture on it.

I don’t understand why people think because they find an image on the internet that they can just save it and use it on their website without giving credit. ALL pictures, words and videos on the internet belong to someone, and you have to credit them or buy them from places like iStockphoto. Stealing photos, etc., is the same as stealing someone’s TV. Stealing is stealing, period.

Basically I just wanted to get the word out there that these people are thieves and totally shady, and it would be great if you didn’t buy anything from them. Oh also, it wouldn’t be horrible if they were inundated with emails telling them to remove these.

Here is all their contact info, which is also freely available on their website. Apparently even though everything is in Polish on their site, they are based in the US.
