Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro Nail Enamel Swatches and Review

Here we are yet again, how are you this fine morning?

I was recently at Walgreens and noticed a new line of Rimmel’s called Lasting Finish Pro. I assume these are all new colors since I have never seen this line (or bottle shape) before. I picked up the four that looked the coolest, but I believe there were 2-4 others as well.

The formula on these was REALLY great! I was very surprised and pleased. I really like the square bottle shape also they remind me of Sally Hansen’s Tracy Reese line, very sophisticated. All of these were just two coats with one exception. Read on!

Rimmel Steel Gray Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro Nail Enamel Swatches and Review
Steel Grey

Steel Grey is a medium mushroom taupe creme. I really don’t know why they named it Steel Grey, because it’s definitely not a traditional “grey”. Either way this is yet another great mushroom in my collection. Here are some comparisons, in case you are wondering. It’s much lighter and has more of a pink tone than Chanel Particuliere. It has less grey and more pink in it than Barielle Putt-E-On Me. It’s much darker and more brown than Orly Country Club Khaki. It’s a totally different taupe than OPI You Don’t Know Jacques. This one was the only one that was three coats since it was a little more sheer than the others.

Zoya Reverie Spring 2010 Swatches and Review

Hallo mates!

As you may or may not have heard, Zoya has released their spring collection, hurrah! It’s called Reverie and it’s six really cool colors.

I must admit, when I saw promo pics I wasn’t all that excited about most of these. However after seeing them in person and swatching them, I have totally changed my mind. These aren’t just plain old cremes or colors we have seen before. They are shimmery, metallic, gorgeous iridescent/duo-chromes!

You may be asking, what exactly is a duo-chrome or iridescent? I looked online a ton and in dictionaries in my house, and couldn’t find any true definition for the word “duo-chrome”. In fact almost all instances of it on Google were people describing makeup, so I don’t think its “technically” a word. However, iridescent is the same thing as a duo-chrome and that is a word. Iridescent colors “flash” showing other colors when you move them around in different lighting and angles. They produce a display of rainbow-like colors or can be seen as having an “oil-slick” effect. Hope that makes sense!

I think this probably goes without saying at this point but I will anyway. The formula was fabulous on all of these, and they were all two coats.

Laney

Laney is a silver iridescent metallic that flashes yellow/green, very subtly. This picture doesn’t show the yellow/green, but it is there. There was a tiny bit of streakiness with this color, but nothing to really complain about!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear for Spring 2010 Swatches and Review

Happy Monday! If you are in the US you might have a vacation day from work, like me, whoo hoo!

Sally Hansen has some great new spring colors out in the Xtreme Wear line and I have some of them to show you. I didn’t get them all, but I got the coolest looking ones I saw. I think there were a few missing from the display, but I also saw a pink and a coral that didn’t seem all that interesting to me, so I didn’t purchase them.

The formula on these was really great. Aside from the wand on these being really long and a little harder to manager than a “normal” polish, I didn’t have any issues.

Say what?

You might notice that I now have watermarks across all my pictures. I am REALLY unhappy about this because in my opinion watermarks are ugly and ruin pictures. However because I am dealing with my pictures being stolen literally 1-3 times a week by various eBay sellers and other e-tailer websites, I feel I needed to try and slow the theft down. I’m so sick of emailing people constantly telling them they cannot just swipe a picture simply because it’s on the web and available. Everything belongs to someone! I know a lot of people still have their pictures stolen even with watermarks, so I don’t know how much of a difference this will make. If it makes no difference then I’m just gonna remove them, because I really do hate them.

Anyway, check out the cool colors below! These pics were taken with cloudy skies above, so they are actually a little brighter in real life.

Sally Hansen Wet Cement Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear for Spring 2010 Swatches and Review
Wet Cement

Wet Cement is a light cement grey creme. It looks exactly like the name describes in fact. I love grey polishes and I have a bazillion of them. None are dupes for this. This is much lighter than CND Asphalt, lighter than Barielle U-Concrete-me, lighter than OCC Dangerous and lighter than RBL Stormy (but not much). This was two coats.

New Eyeko Nail Polish Swatches and Review

Guten Morgen! That’s good morning in German. I am going to try and throw in a phrase in another language in some posts from time to time. Why you ask? Why not I say!

Now that we’ve gotten the language lesson of the day out of the way, I will get to the matter at hand.

Eyeko has a new collection out which includes six colors. The bottle shape is even different and dare I say better? Don’t get me wrong, I liked the other shape also, but the bottle neck was SO wide it was hard to keep the polish from globbing all over the place.

The formula on these is definitely better than the last six I reviewed here. Having said that, they still need to work out some issues with their light colors. The light ones tend to be really streaky and thick still. The darker ones though apply like a dream and are super opaque in just one or two coats. Peep ‘em out!

Eyeko Nude New Eyeko Nail Polish Swatches and Review
Nude

Nude is a peachy nude color with subtle shimmer. This was really thick and it got a little globbed up on the tip of my middle finger. The color is pretty enough, but awful on my skin! This was three coats.

Dashing Diva Manhattan Collection – Part II

As promised, here is part deux of the Dashing Diva Manhattan collection (until I order more that is). These are the more unusual and cool colors, I think. I truly love them all and I think you will see why. As mentioned in the other post, I had no application issues at all with these. Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

Dashing Diva West Village Dashing Diva Manhattan Collection Part II

West Village is a really chic looking caffe latte colored creme. It’s definitely not one of those basic beige neutrals that you see some companies spew out over & over every season. This one looks edgier and more “mushroomy”, which I love! This was three coats.
