Dazzle Dry Morocco Collection for Spring 2009

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I am just so burned out by the time I get home I just can’t deal with MORE computer work! Today I have Dazzle Dry’s new collection for spring 2009 called Morocco. I will tell you now I know next to nothing about Morocco other than it’s dry, hot and desert like. I picture people on camels with long flowy colored scarves riding across a big sand dune. And that about sums it up. So really, I have no clue where the idea for these colors came from, but I assume they did some research, haha! Keep in mind that Dazzle Dry polish is very dull when you don’t use their top coat and I don’t use top coats in my pics so these are dull looking. They do shine up nicely though, so no worries and they dry SUPER fast, no joke!

Dazzle Dry Afternoon Delight Dazzle Dry Morocco Collection for Spring 2009

Afternoon Delight

Afternoon Delight is a really strange color. This reminds me of something out of the 1960′s for some reason. It’s very bland and somewhat ugly if I dare say so. There are very few colors that I just REALLY don’t like and this, Ladies & Gents, is one of them. The color is a rusted salmon pink/coral. The application was pretty good and it was opaque in two coats. It just does nothing for me and I wonder what in Morocco is this color?

Orly Prepster for Spring 2009

Sometimes I feel like I have split personalities! Mainly I am a rocker chick; I love lots of eyeliner, dark nails, heavy metal, etc. However I have this crazy other side that’s totally preppy! I LOVE argyle and the color combo of pink/green. Give me an alligator polo and some plaid Chuck Taylors and I will wear them with glee. smile Orly Prepster for Spring 2009 Anyway that brings me to my point which is that Orly has a new collection for spring called Prepster. A couple of these I loved, a couple weren’t my favs for me, but overall the collection is really great. Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

Dashing Diva Manhattan Collection – Part I

As you may already know, Dashing Diva has about 100 new polishes in their Manhattan collection which was released a couple months ago. I reviewed some back in December I believe and liked them a lot so I have some more to review!

I really love Dashing Diva, their colors are fabulous and they don’t stick to one “genre” like boring work colors or neutrals. Their formula is really spot on, I never have issues with them. There are two parts to this saga and part one which I am showing today is the more “classic” of the set. These are all variances on the color red and two in particular I really love. Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

Dashing Diva 5 Heels Dashing Diva Manhattan Collection Part I

5″ Heels is a really great bright orange/red shimmery frost. The shimmer is gold colored and very subtle. I think this polish would look great on a wide variety of skin tones because it’s kind of middle of the road in terms of cool and warm. This was three coats.

Borghese Nail Polish

Happy Saturday morning! I am up WAY earlier than usual this morning for some crazy reason. I’m excited because I am going to lunch in Napa with a friend today and it’s sunny and fabulous outside! Tomorrow I plan on spending ALL DAY swatching as many polishes as humanly possible smile Borghese Nail Polish  Today I am bringing you some craptastic pics that I took last week in my light box. I decided to show them even though I don’t like ‘em because there is no way I am swatching all of these again! None of these are from their new collection, rather these are from early/mid 2008. A note about the formula. It was really nice on all of these, I had no issues. The cremes in particular were really nice to apply and fairly opaque. The brushes on Borghese polishes are flat and wide and I both like and don’t like that. I like it because it covers my whole nail almost in one swipe, but for my smaller nails, I have to be more careful so as to not get it all over the sides of my fingers also. Pics taken with no top coat.

Essie Swatches and Zoya Kalista Contest!

The Essie swatches are here folks! The wonderful people over at Essie were kind enough to send these to me gratis, thank you so much! Overall I found these to all be really nice colors and applications. My pics all taken in sunlight with no top coat.

Essie Imported Champagne Essie Swatches and Zoya Kalista Contest!
Pink Champagne from the Mega Mini Treasures Collection
Here we have Pink Champagne which is a very light white/pink frosty/shimmery polish. Because it was frosty it was a tad streaky and took a careful application to smooth it out. It’s also fairly sheer so needed three coats. It is a pretty color but maybe a little too tame for me in general.
