Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Spring 2009

No Vampy Varnish Tuesday Poll today folks, I have something MUCH more fun! I am super excited about this Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Limited Edition Spring 2009 collection because I happen to love ALL the colors, which never happens. Now I know that for a lot of you these are going to be really hard to find in your local drugstores. I too have lots of issues with these Tracy Reese colors. If you can’t find them after searching in a couple stores (wait until end of Feb/March as I believe this collection comes out then) I say write into the company and let them know your thoughts and frustrations. If enough of us write in, maybe they will finally listen!

Here is the company info:

I am showing all these colors both in the sun and in the shade to try out something different. I apologize in advance for the reflections in the shade pics, it couldn’t really be helped, but it does give you a different view of the color.

Sephora by OPI

I just realized I took these pics a long time ago and never published them, oops! They are from Sephora by OPI’s line of polishes and I have mixed feelings about them. Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but I am awaiting the weekend when I can swatch some new spring and summer lines! Good stuff in store, I promise! Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

This one I loved. It was so creamy and fabulous going on and only took two coats. The color is an almost fuschia pink mixed with some purple but it’s a bit muted so it’s not SUPER bright. There is shimmer in it as well which just bumps the coolness factor up for me!

Color Club One & Done Eco-Conscious Nail Polish

Color Club recently released a new line of mini eco-conscious polishes called “One & Done”. There are 24 polishes in this collection so I picked up a few that appealed to me. The application on all colors (with one exception noted below) was outstanding as I am finding most of their colors to be. Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

This one turned out a lot more sheer than I thought it was going to. It’s a very light beige/pink shimmer that took three coats to get to bottle color. It’s not my favorite because it matches my skin too closely, but I think would look great on darker skin.

Misa Nail Polish – Part I

What’s goin on? I am happy that today is already Thursday and the week is almost done! Today I’m bringing you some bright -ass polishes from Misa that recently joined my stash. These are not new, but I needed something to brighten up my day on this dreary rainy day (yes it’s now raining once again in the Bay Area as it should be). Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

This is BRIGHT people! The first coat or two I was thinking it made me look like I had Scurvy or some old world disease. But then by the third coat I kinda dug it. Make no mistake, this isn’t for the weak! The color is a neon based yellow/green creme and it went on like butta.

Essie Spring 2009 Collection

Hidey ho there neighbor! Today I am bringing you Essie’s Spring 2009 collection. This is a fairly “safe” collection (with one fabulous exception) of creme polishes that overall I liked a lot. There were a couple that I wasn’t totally blown away by but a couple I am very fond of as well. All the colors went on very smooth and creamy and I had no application issues. All pics taken in sun with no top coat.

Essie Eternal Optimist Essie Spring 2009 Collection
Eternal Optimist
As you might have guessed Eternal Optimist was the one that impressed me the least. That’s not to say it’s not a good color, but on me it just didn’t work. It’s too “beige-y” and there wasn’t enough contrast between my skin tone and the polish to make it work. It’s a great “work safe” color though (for stuffy offices, yuck) so I guess I can just thank my lucky stars that I can wear ANYTHING I want to work! This is three coats.
