Jessica Botanicals for Spring 2009

Good afternoon! Jessica Cosmetics just came out with their spring 2009 collection called Botanicals and I had the pleasure of swatching them yesterday. The line was inspired by the runway floral trend going on right now, so Jessica Vartoughian (founder of Jessica Cosmetics and celebrity manicurist to many stars) wanted a collection to go alongside that trend. All Jessica polishes are eco-friendly, meaning they are free of Toluene, Formaldehyde and Phalate-Free. They are formulated with Vitamin A to help with conditioning and have UVA/UVB protection in them, as well as being a quick-dry formula.

This whole collection was super pretty and pleasing to my eyes! Of all the spring 2009 collections I have see thus far, this one is the one that screams “SPRING!” to me the most. Maybe it’s the flowery names or just the pretty colors (or a combo), but I really like it. I had zero issues with application. The polishes were really truly creamy and flowed so nicely onto my nails. All pics taken in sun with no top coat. Hope you like!

Jessica Coral Reef Daisies1 Jessica Botanicals for Spring 2009
Coral Reef Daisies is a pinkish/coral colored base with very fine shimmer. The finish on all of these (except Color Me Calla Lilly) are shimmery metallics. I love this finish because I am not a huge plain metallic fan and I love my shimmer, so combining the two makes for a great look! This color could work I think for both cool and warm skin tones. I used three coats for this one to get a more “saturated” look.

MAC Varicose Violet

The name may be questionable, but the color is outstanding. Varicose Violet from MAC’s recently released Dame Edna collection is exactly what I was hoping it would be. Pic taken in sun with no top coat.

Varicose Violet

Even though it’s sheer and needed three good coats, this color rocks. It’s a really flattering violet/pink that flashes blue depending on the lighting. It’s definitely one of those super cool toned colors, so it might not work for those with darker or tanned skin tones. I love it on me though and I don’t have anything like it so yahoo!

Vamp it up!

OPI France Fall/Winter 2008 – The Shimmers

It’s Saturday whoo hoo! Ok so here we have the shimmers that I liked from OPI’s France collection. Again I apologize for the craptastic pics, but I think you’ll get the idea. These are all totally fabulous, but I may like the cremes a smidge more because of You Don’t Know Jacques and Parlez-Vouz OPI? These are all taken in the sun with no top coat. Apprecier!

So hot! This is a smokin hot shimmery violet. The shimmer is multi-colored and it’s really pretty. This was three coats here.

OPI France Fall/Winter 2008 – The Cremes

Morning! I know it’s been awhile since the OPI France collection came out, but I never got around to swatching them until now. They have been sitting in my “to do” container for months now! Anyhoo, I totally apologize for the horrendous pics here, they were taken with my older camera and are not as crisp as I would have liked. I think that Santa Claus will be bringing me a FAT camera for Christmas this year though (I hope, I hope, I hope) so the pics should drastically improve come January! smile OPI France Fall/Winter 2008 The Cremes Today I’ll bring you the cremes, tomorrow the shimmers. Oh and I didn’t buy the entire collection, only the ones that *spoke* to me. All pics taken in sun with no top coat.
