The MAC for Gareth Pugh collection features three new nail lacquers in super cool packaging.

The bottles are a thick square glass with rounded corners. The caps are a glossy black. They remind me a lot of the Estee Lauder “ice cube” bottles actually. All four corners have an “X” on them and cut through it you can see the polish inside. Each bottle is 0.30 oz.

The colors look very duo-chromatic in the bottles, but sadly they didn’t wind up that way on the nail.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice is here!

As you know, there has been much hype over the Models Own Beetlejuice collection ever since they announced it a couple months ago. I think nearly every nail blogger I am connected to on Twitter got it along with lots of you guys. But does the hype live up to my expectations? Yes and no.

Let’s talk formula. Some of these felt a tiny bit on the thick side, but I didn’t have any problems working with them aside from a couple being a bit streaky. I did use three coats for all colors just because I want maximum payoff and coverage.

I do think the names could have been more interesting though. It seems like all the thought went into the collection name and color concept and then they had no energy left. Better, less generic names would have made the collection a little more special for me.

Color Club Backstage Pass is a glittery, festive collection for the holiday season this year. But you best make sure you have MAJOR patience!

These aren’t your garden variety glitters. Nay. They are super crazy multi-colored, shaped and sized glitters and all but one are set in a clear base. You can use them as a layer atop a colored polish or pack ‘em on for a majorly glittery effect. But that’s where your patience will be required because these are a bit difficult to work with.

MAC Glitter and Ice is just one of the holiday collections MAC is putting out this year. It’s a virtual plethora of wintery goodies!

Glitter and Ice is a 34 piece collection filled with Paint Pots, Mineralize Eye Shadows, Beauty Powders, Nail Lacquers, Lipsticks, Dazzleglasses, Technakohl Eye Liners and more.

This collection is inspired by something I am very familiar with. Ice skating! In fact, the model in the promo pictures for it is Johnny Weir. I was an AVID ice skater for years when I was younger and in fact took classes 5 days a week for hours on end with three different instructors. At the time I really had planned on going to the Olympics. Then I hit thirteen years old and lost interest in it. Too bad because I was really good, if I do say so myself.

G’day mates!

Today I’ve got some hot, metal, glittery fabulousness for you. In other words, Milani’s Liquid Metal collection for summer 2010.

This is a new collection of six glitters that initially I wasn’t all that excited about, but having swatched them I have changed my mind.

A word about formula, it’s pretty good. The one thing to note is apply these in thinner layers and wait a few minutes in-between coats or they will get gloopy at the tips and you’ll get cuticle drag. Other than that, they were fine. Most were even only two coats!

Peep them please!

Melt In The Sun

Melt In The Sun is a burnt yellow/gold with gold shimmer. Now this is the kind of color that just clashes on me because of all the yellow in it. It looks awful on me, however I think those with a different skin tone would look great wearing it. This was two coats.
