China Glaze Vintage Vixen for Fall 2010 Swatches & Review

Good evening!

I was so excited about these I swatched them as soon as I got them this afternoon, and wanted to post them as soon as possible.

This of course is China Glaze’s new Vintage Vixen collection for fall 2010. Yes fall. Already. We are not even into summer yet, but fall colors abound. But you know what? That’s fine with me because the fall collections are always my favorite. That’s when we see most of the darker and more weird colors come out, which I adore.

I must admit when I saw promo pics of these and heard the word “frost” being tossed about, I wasn’t all that thrilled. But it turns out I REALLY like the majority of this collection and was pleasantly surprised how un-frosty they turned out to be. They are more metallic than frost.

This collection comes in two separate sets, but I am showing them all to you now. Just so you have the info, here is how the sets are broken down:

Part 1 includes:

  • Classic Camel
  • Swing Baby
  • Ingrid
  • Goin’ My Way?
  • Foxy
  • Riveter Rogue

Part 2 includes:

  • Hey Doll
  • Bogie
  • Emerald Fitzgerald
  • First Class Ticket
  • Midnight Mission
  • Jitterbug

The formula was totally great on almost all of these. I had no problems with any of them but some were more opaque than others.

Check them out below!

Classic Camel

Classic Camel is a khaki/yellow/beige color with gold glitter flecks. This has a very warm yellow base but surprisingly didn’t totally clash with my skin. I was most excited about this color because it looked the most unusual from the promo pics. I was right! This was two coats.

Essie Resort Collection for Summer 2010 Swatches & Review

Happy Monday folks!

Today I’ve got Essie’s new collection for summer called Resort. It’s comprised of four fabulous creme colors that are not the usual reds or pinks, yahoo!

The formula on these was pretty darn nice. I didn’t have any stickiness or thickness like I thought I might. They were mostly two coaters also!

Peep ‘em!

Essie Playa Del Platinum Essie Resort Collection for Summer 2010 Swatches & Review
Playa Del Platinum

Playa Del Platinum is a light taupe/concrete color. I do really like this color although it’s my least favorite of this collection. It us unique to other similar taupe colors we have recently seen, but I think I might be getting bored of those! This was the most sheer one of the bunch so I used three coats.

Barielle High Steppin’ Collection for Summer 2010 Swatches & Review

Friday is finally here, let’s all breathe a sigh of relief!

Barielle’s new summer collection for 2010 is called High Steppin’ and it’s a nice departure from most other collections we have seen so far this season.

This is made up of metallic colors, inspired by the disco era and not necessarily all colors you think of when you think summer. I definitely appreciate that because after awhile the same colors get to be so boring!

These are metallics and as we all know, they have a tendency to be streaky. I don’t have any major complaints here with the formula, just some small ones that aren’t a big deal.

Read on!

Barielle Belly Dance Barielle High Steppin Collection for Summer 2010 Swatches & Review
Belly Dance

Belly Dance is a pale taupe with silver shimmer. This went on pretty sheer, but built up nicely after three coats. I don’t love this one personally, it’s a little too nude for me, but it’s still pretty. Very conservative office friendly I think.

Deborah Lippmann Spring 2010 Swatches & Review

Yes, it is Thursday which means Friday is right around the corner, whoo hoo!

Today I’ve got the two new colors from Deborah Lippmann for spring 2010. They may not be what you think of when you think spring. They aren’t totally bright or saturated, more subdued and dare I say, professional?

The formula was pretty good with these, as hers usually are. Excellent consistency and no problems. I have to say though I’m not totally gaga (no not Lady) over these though. Peep ‘em and see for yourself!

Deborah Lippmann Im Not Innocent Deborah Lippmann Spring 2010 Swatches & Review
I’m Not Innocent

I’m Not Innocent is a pale nude/peach creme. This was very sheer and a wee bit streaky. I think it would look more saturated and even if you used a coat of white underneath. I’m not really a fan of sheers or nudes for that matter, so this didn’t suit me personally. It is a really good professional color though and would work for any conservative situation.

Color Club Rebel Debutante Spring 2010 Collection Swatches & Review

Here we are on Monday, yet again, sigh.

Color Club has a new collection called Rebel Debutante for spring 2010. The flyer I got with these says “Rebellious shades that go from classic to trendy”. I’m not so sure I totally agree with the statement that these are rebellious shades. I think this collection is fairly tame actually. There are a few standout colors here, but I didn’t feel like anything totally original was created in this collection.

The formula was pretty good on these, if a but thick. A couple were harder than others to apply and I’ll note those ones below.

Check them out below!

Who Are You Wearing?

Who Are You Wearing? is a pale white/grey. I wound up liking this more than most of the others for some unexplained reason. It’s just a very pretty light color, but isn’t boring. I think I like the grey in it. This was on the sheer side so was three coats.
