If you haven’t yet heard by now, you have been living under the largest rock on the planet. China Glaze Colours From The Capitol is their latest 12-piece collection for spring, and of course, is a tribute to the upcoming movie The Hunger Games, which is based on a series of best-selling books from Suzanne Collins. The movie comes out in March ( I will be there with bells on!)

Let me say, if you have not read the three books in the series (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay) RUN to the store and get them! I read them about a year ago and aside from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series, these are some of the best books I have read in years and years. Yes they are technically “young adult” but are not written in a juvenile or off-putting way for an adult. They are nothing at all like the Twilight series (which I get asked a lot). The story grabs you, sucks you in and is totally amazing. I died a little when I finished them, they were that good.

This collection of polishes includes twelve new colors with a variety of finishes. I did have a few issues with the formula of some of them, more on that below.

Stepping away from all the holiday collections sometimes feels so refreshing and natural…Oh yes, natural as in Scotch Naturals Nail Polish!

Scotch Naturals is a new nail polish line that features 26 water-based eco-friendly non-toxic colors. They are not only big-three-free, but also contain no ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, nitrocellulose, acetone or heavy metals. Personally I don’t mind a little heavy metal in my system, if ya know what I mean.

Up until recently, I had never heard of the YouTube-r JulieG. In fact it wasn’t until Jesse’s Girl came out with a JulieG Collection that I heard of her. I know she does a lot of nail art so maybe that’s why she wasn’t on my radar, since you know me, I have zero patience for nail art.

The JulieG Collection consists of eight colors. Six of them are cremes and two are shimmers. The cremes are all in pretty basic colors such as peach, orange, pink, purple, blue and red-orange. None of those looked all that interesting or unique to me so I chose the two that stood out from the rest – Stiletto and Mermaid’s Lagoon.

I picked up the coolest looking ones to me recently at Rite Aid for $4.79 each! Good deal.

Misa Surreal Escape for winter 2011 is a collection of six new colors, half being duochromes and the other half being shimmers.

From the bottle shots I was immediately excited to see these in person because I am a huge fan of Misa and haven’t been all that thrilled with their past few collections. This seemed like the old cool Misa coming back, which makes me a happy camper.

Let’s take a further look. Also let me apologize in advance for how short my nails are. I had a break on my left hand so I had to cut them all off. Boo!
