Let It Snow is the new holiday 2011 collection from China Glaze. It features twelve shimmery, glittery festive colors.
I was going to break this post down into two parts, but decided to just do them all at once since I know you have been asking about them.
It’s a great collection with some real beauties inside!
When the original Footloose movie came out, I was 11 years old. I saw it in theaters and LOVED IT. It’s one of those iconic movies for me that I still totally adore to this day, and always have to watch when I pass by it on TV. Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer, Chris Penn, John Lithgow, Sarah Jessica Parker and Dianne Wiest were irreplaceable in their parts. And still are as far as I’m concerned.
But there’s this pesky remake that just came out and I am not a fan. I am not a fan of 99.9% of any movie remakes from my childhood. However, I AM a huge fan of the Deborah Lippmann Footloose Collection on HSN!
This collection is sold in two sets, each with two colors, and exclusively on HSN.
Dior has included four nail lacquers in their Les Rouges Or Holiday 2011 Collection, all which include a bit of gold in them.
The story of Dior and Gold is a long one, with its origins in the very sound of the name – Dior. This fact did not escape Jean Cocteau who said, “Dior, this airy genius of our times whose magical name includes that of God (Dieu) and Gold (or).” Rigour combined with excess: it was a prophetic name. From his first couture collections at the end of the 1940s, Christian Dior toyed with gold as the ultimate symbol of true luxury and dreams, as seen in his 1947 ―Champagne gold – silk Aladdin gown, in the 1949 – Pactole gown and so on.
Gold was synonymous with refinement, also appearing as a delicate highlighting touch on perfume bottles and the first lipsticks. Thus, the fascination with gold has continued over the decades. In whichever way it is used, gold is always symbolic of a doorway into a dream. And today the House of Dior is inviting us to a new enchanted experience with a flamboyant collection created by Tyen, where the colour gold provides the setting for Dior’s emblematic Rouge Dior lipcolors and Vernis nail varnishes. Gold reveals the potency of their shades, and like gold powder thrown into crystal fusion to colour it red, gold equals refinement; it glimmers with luxury.
The shades include Or Divin (221), Exquis (611), Mervielle (651) and Apparat (871). It’s my understanding that only Or Divin (which is a gold shade) is limited edition, but I’m not positive.
The only two that really called my name were Exquis and Apparat, so I picked them up and am sure happy I did!

Yes we now have two more amazing collections to drool over from BB Couture this fall. The collection is called Sinfully Polished and as usual there is a “For Men” side and a regular side. Normally there are six colors in each collection but this time we get seven!
These are seriously to die for colors. I am really blown away by both how amazing and unique the colors are and the formula. Buttery. Smooth. Creamy. Opaque. Perfection are the words that all come to mind when describing the formula. Nearly all were just two coats.
Last week I was at Target picking up the requisite new toothbrush and sponges when lo and behold, there on the antacid aisle endcap was Fright Night Claw Polish!
I actually didn’t see it, Mr. VV did (good eyes) so of course I picked ‘em up. Who can resist a nail polish in a coffin shape? Not I.
There are two sets that I saw. One was a black with grey and the other a black with red.
Applying these polishes isn’t exactly the easiest thing on earth. The little coffin lid doesn’t pop off to reveal an easier top (like butter London), so you have to hold that awkward shape to paint your nails. Not a huge deal just kinda annoying.
