Zoya Ooh-La-La Collection Summer 2009

Zoya has two new collections out for summer 2009 and today I am showing you the metallic collection called Ooh-La-La. I have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of these beauties and as soon as they came I swatched them even though the sun was only peeking out here and there. So pics taken in sun/clouds with no top coat.

Ginessa is a truly cool silvery white polish that is metallic looking but also filled with little sparkles. I am not usually a fan of metallic silver or white but this was extra special because of the sparkle. The application was very nice, though I used three coats to get full opacity (which I generally do with most polishes anyway).

Sephora Metallic Nail Polish

Sephora has recently come out with a line of mini nail polishes and included in their new collection are some metallics. The formula on these was kind of hit or miss. Some were great but some seemed thick and almost stringy. However all the colors I tried turned out to be pretty great colors! I must say I loathe mini bottles, I find them useless to be honest. They are hard to hold, the wands are so short that it makes the application that much more difficult. Plus two of these I loved so much I want FULL bottles! Are you listening Sephora? Fusion is a really cool gold metallic that looks like my nails were dipped in gold leaf or something. This one was thick and stringy but the color was great nonetheless. This was only two coats as it’s pretty opaque.

Color Club Electro Candy Collection Summer 2009

Holy brightness Batman! Color Club’s new collection for summer 2009 is a very vivid one called Electro Candy. These colors are definitely in the “neon” category (with shimmer!) though my pictures don’t necessarily show that. Neon’s are really hard to photograph, at least for me, so trust me when I say these are even brighter in person. Pics taken in sun with their color enhancing top coat.

Orly Prepster for Spring 2009

Sometimes I feel like I have split personalities! Mainly I am a rocker chick; I love lots of eyeliner, dark nails, heavy metal, etc. However I have this crazy other side that’s totally preppy! I LOVE argyle and the color combo of pink/green. Give me an alligator polo and some plaid Chuck Taylors and I will wear them with glee. smile Orly Prepster for Spring 2009 Anyway that brings me to my point which is that Orly has a new collection for spring called Prepster. A couple of these I loved, a couple weren’t my favs for me, but overall the collection is really great. Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

OPI South Beach for Spring 2009 – Part II

Happy hump day! So here we are with the second part of the OPI South Beach collection for spring 2009. These are the ones that worked better on me and I found to be a bit more interesting. Still though, with the exception of Done Out In Deco, they are all very safe and rather hum drum. Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

OPI Paint My Moji Toes Red OPI South Beach for Spring 2009 Part II

Yep it’s red. That’s about all I can really say, another middle of the road poppy-ish red creme. Nice, but nothing new or particularly interesting about it. It leans towards the blue so might work better on fair skin. This was three coats.
