BB Couture Girls on Tape Collection for Spring 2012 Swatches & Review

BB Couture Girls on Tape BB Couture Girls on Tape Collection for Spring 2012 Swatches & Review

Have you heard? BB Couture has a new spring collection out that features twelve new colors! The regular “women’s” collection is called Girls on Tape and that’s what I’m featuring today.

The shades in Girls on Tape are all named after movies. These six colors are flecked with either small glitter sparkles or have a shimmer finish.

Nearly all of them were just two coats, though they seemed sheer at first. Nice formula, no streaking or weird problems. The one thing I did notice was for the almost all of the glitter ones, the glitter seemed to sink into the color, so it was more in the background hiding rather than up front. I prefer the glitter to sit on top of my polish rather than sink in that much. They are a little rough (not bad though) so you’ll need a nice top coat. But you knew that already didn’t you? icon wink BB Couture Girls on Tape Collection for Spring 2012 Swatches & Review

China Glaze Electropop Collection for Spring 2012 Swatches & Review

Welcome to the colorful world of China Glaze Electropop! Electropop is their new 12-piece color saturated collection for spring 2012.

Nearly all the colors in this collection are cremes with the exception of two shimmers and one glitter. But that’s not to say they’re boring.

The formula was really great with nearly all of them. They seemed to apply a bit sheer and I kept thinking I would need three coats, but nearly all were just perfect with two.

Kat Von D High Voltage Nail Lacquer Swatches & Review

Kat Von D Nail Polish Kat Von D High Voltage Nail Lacquer Swatches & Review

Did you know that Kat Von D now has nail lacquer out? Yep! It’s called High Voltage Nail Lacquer.

So far there are just four shades in smallish bottles (0.25 oz). but they are shimmery and fun! The shades are Mad Max (blue), No Regrets (fuchsia), Wonderchild (purple) and Sparklehorse (yellow). I don’t have Sparklehorse A. because it wasn’t available the same time as the other three and B. I am pretty sure that warm yellow will not look good on me anyway.

Each of her bottle caps are decorated with her black and silver rose tattoo design with her initials on top. They have a slight grip to them which makes holding them nice.

The one gripe I have is the wand is extremely short so basically you open it and have the brush immediately. Kind of strange but not really hard to paint with.

Some more info about them from Sephora:

These vibrant, vivacious nail lacquers were inspired by the neon trends of the ’80s. The high-quality, richly pigmented formulas will catch all eyes in the room with their bright, ultra-reflective shine. Infused with tiny particles of shattered glass, these are the boldest and shiniest polishes you’ll find. The extended wear, anti-chip formula is water and detergent resistant and provides UV protection to ensure the color’s fidelity.

These lacquers are formulated without toluene, formaldehyde, and DBP.

Finger Paints Special Effects Collection for Winter 2011 Swatches & Review. Oh and Giveaway!!

Finger Paints Special Effects Finger Paints Special Effects Collection for Winter 2011 Swatches & Review. Oh and Giveaway!!

The next big trend now that we have gone through tons and tons of crackles and then magnetic polishes is definitely flake glitter. It seems as though everyone is now coming out with their own version (more coming soon that haven’t yet been announced yet icon wink Finger Paints Special Effects Collection for Winter 2011 Swatches & Review. Oh and Giveaway!! ) and I am NOT complaining about this trend! Flake glitters are my absolute favorite “effect” in a nail polish. To me they are better than duo-chromes, multi-chromes, holographics, regular glitters, bar glitters, crackles, magnetics, etc. I LOVE them. I love the irregular pattern of them and love how they make your nails looks like they are glowing. Plus they are usually much easier to remove than traditional glitter.

Finger Paints jumped on board with their new Special Effects Collection only available at Sally Beauty Supply starting in January.

This collection includes five different flake glitters: Asylum, Flecked, Twisted, Motley and Flashy. They are all set in a clear base, so are best used over a black or dark color. I used two coats of the flake glitters over a black base for all photos. You can get a good amount of flake coverage though using just one coat, but I prefer two.

Below are some macro bottle shots where I turned up the contrast so you can really see the flakes inside.
