Metro Chic Giveaway only 5 days left!

Hey Ya’ll! I feel as though it’s appropriate for me to say that because I am writing you from the big ‘ole state of Texas right now. Yep, I’m in San Antonio hanging out by the Riverwalk for a work conference. Anyone know of any cool beauty stores near here? I have already been informed of a Trade Secret in the mall, so of course I will be going there tomorrow to see if they have anything the Bay Area doesn’t have (I hope, I hope!).

In the meanwhile I am highly annoyed about my polish at the moment. I got my OPI holiday colors (swatches coming late next week) and put on Brand New Skates last night at 9:00 pm. By 1:00 pm today a huge chunk was missing on my pointer finger already! And the rest have lots of tip wear! What I did for this as an experiement, which clearly didn’t work, was: 1 coat of CND Stickey, 3 coats polish, 1 coat CND Stickey then a coat of Poshe. I always heard a “Stickey sandwich” worked really well for people. But maybe it’s too thick so it peeled right off. I don’t know. Has anyone had this happen before and if so, what are your recommendations?

I also want to remind those who have not already entered into my contest that I am giving away a bottle of Metro Chic to one lucky person. The contest ends on the 10th so please enter today!

ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly vs. Other Grey’s

I just got my ManGlaze polishes yesterday (I know SO late to the party!) so I thought I would showcase them here and also do some comparison swatches to some other similar steel grey’s. As you might already be aware of, ManGlaze is a polish that was created for men (men who are either secure enough with their masculinity to wear nail polish or those goth/emo boys who don’t care what you think). The finish on these is dull on purpose. They practically beg you not to put on a top coat on their website because that defeats the whole purpose of the polish, but of course I did anyway. Overall I am really impressed with their formula and color. I had no issue whatsoever with them and they turned out to be in the running with some of my favorite grey & black polishes ever (with top coat that is). Here’s the scoop:

Fuggen Ugly – Natural light no top coat

This is a really nice steel grey polish with a very dull finish. Very industrial looking. I really liked it with no top coat but I wanted to add one just to see what the difference would be.

butter LONDON Fall (re-release) Swatches are Here!

I got my butter LONDON fall polishes a day early today, it was like Christmas in September! As promised earlier, I have now swatched them all. Showers have not been taken, floors have not been vacuumed and dishes have not been done all in order to bring these to you gentle reader, as fast as possible. My reviews are beneath each picture. Enjoy!

Cream Tea – Natural lighting

My first impression was…hot streaky mess! It’s a very light “marshmallowy” white/cream color and applies a bit thick (this is 3 coats pictured). I actually thought the color itself was very flattering on my skin and pretty, but the streaks made it unwearable for me. Having said that, I didn’t have any type of base coat on, so maybe if I try again that would help.
