The Orly Hope and Freedom Fest Collection for spring 2013 came out awhile ago online and I’m a bit late to the party for this one!

The collection consists of six new shades in various finishes. The three not shown are Boho Bonnet (light blue creme), Melodious Utopia (pale shimmery yellow) and Coachella Dweller (lime green creme).

The names kind of crack me up because they are SO Coachella targeted. Hey brands, howzabout a Day on the Green or Monsters of Rock collection? The names could be something like “Metal-head Malachite”, “Head Banger Bondi Blue”, “Mosh Pit Prussian”, “Stage Dive Sapphire” and “Concert-tee Camo”.

Note: Cruelty free

At a trip to the drugstore recently I came across some new Revlon Brilliant Strength Nail Enamel shades. These three in particular intrigued and beguiled me, so I bought them, swatched them and nestled them into their proper color-coded drawers, where they made many new friends who became enthralled with them.

China Glaze Avant Garden is the new collection for spring 2013 and features twelve shades.

This collection is obviously inspired by all the soft and bright shades of all the blooming flowers this time of year. Ok well technically it’s not “this time of year” because it’s still winter! Close enough.

There are some really interesting unique shades here, and some maybe we’ve seen before. The formula in general for these was good. Some were just two coats, some three.

Nicole by OPI and Twentieth Century Fox recently collaborated to make the Modern Family collection, based on the hit ABC TV show. A show I’ve been watching since it started in fact!

This collection features fourteen new shades that run the gamut from cremes to glitters, from beige to blurple. All of them are named after characters on the show as well.

For most of these I had to use three coats to get the desired saturation. A couple were two coaters though. Quite a few had some streaking issues, mentioned below.

Misa High Society is the latest from the brand and features six new shades: three super amazing shimmers and three deep cremes.

I didn’t really expect some of these to be as good as they are! The shimmers looked pretty nice in the bottle, but they are much better than I thought. They are so deep and rich. The cremes as well were thick, creamy and smooth. I only needed two coats for all of them. Excellent formula as per usual for this very under-rated brand (one of my fav brands).

Oh and if you like what you see here, read until the bottom because someone will be winning this entire collection!
