OPI France Fall/Winter 2008 – The Shimmers

It’s Saturday whoo hoo! Ok so here we have the shimmers that I liked from OPI’s France collection. Again I apologize for the craptastic pics, but I think you’ll get the idea. These are all totally fabulous, but I may like the cremes a smidge more because of You Don’t Know Jacques and Parlez-Vouz OPI? These are all taken in the sun with no top coat. Apprecier!

So hot! This is a smokin hot shimmery violet. The shimmer is multi-colored and it’s really pretty. This was three coats here.

OPI France Fall/Winter 2008 – The Cremes

Morning! I know it’s been awhile since the OPI France collection came out, but I never got around to swatching them until now. They have been sitting in my “to do” container for months now! Anyhoo, I totally apologize for the horrendous pics here, they were taken with my older camera and are not as crisp as I would have liked. I think that Santa Claus will be bringing me a FAT camera for Christmas this year though (I hope, I hope, I hope) so the pics should drastically improve come January! smile OPI France Fall/Winter 2008 The Cremes Today I’ll bring you the cremes, tomorrow the shimmers. Oh and I didn’t buy the entire collection, only the ones that *spoke* to me. All pics taken in sun with no top coat.

Carolyn New York Swatches (More!)

Morning Vampies! Today I am going
to show you the other three Carolyn New York swatches I took. It is a
cold rainy grey day here and supposed to be the next couple days, so I thought these colors were fitting! I am
hoping to somehow take new pics of the Color Club cremes so I can show
you in decent lighting, but without my friend the sun around, it might
be difficult! The Carolyn New York polishes all had fabulous
consistency and application. All pics taken in sun
with no top coat.

Handball Courts
This is a really nice silvery dove grey shimmery polish. It went on pretty sheer so it needed three coats. I love, love, love grey polish and was really pleased with this. For a second I thought it might be close to OPI’s Sheer Your Toys, but no. This is more grey and doesn’t have the red flecks that OPI’s does. It is very close to RBL’s Concrete Jungle, but this has shimmer whereas that is a creme.

Chips and Peeling Nails

Well my Butter LONDON test failed miserably. I wore Tramp Stamp for about 24 hours before my first chip appeared. 36 hours into wearing it I had 4 or five decent sized chips along with some tip wear and I had to remove it. I don’t believe it’s all the polishes fault though. You see, I noticed that some of the tips of my nails are cracking and peeling lately and I think it’s due to using non-acetone nail polish remover when I swatch. The fingertips that show the chips first are the ones that have the cracks. I have cut them down as short as possible and have switched to OPI’s Expert Touch Lacquer Remover, which is a gentle nice smelling remover that leaves my nails less damaged and dry. It is pretty expensive at $15.95 for 16 ounces, but I think probably worth it in the long run. What polish remover do you use and what do you do when your nails get damaged?

OPI Holiday in Toyland Collection

As soon as I saw swatches of OPI’s Holiday in Toyland collection on The Nailphile and All Lacquered Up, I knew I was a goner. I didn’t order them all, I got the five I liked the best judging from their swatches, and I am NOT disappointed! All pics are taken in sunlight with no top coat. Enjoy!

“Sheer” Your Toys!

I love this polish, it’s one of my favorites this season. It’s a really gorgeous lavender/grey shimmer that really isn’t “Sheer” after 3 coats. One of the coolest things about this (which you can’t see in my pics of course) is that it has red sparkles in it! They are subtle but there and it makes it like nothing else I own.
