OPI Yokohama

The same friend who turned me onto O2 Skin nail polish also was able to snag me some of the infamous OPI Yokohama’s, which were exclusive to Japan. They have leaked into other places like China, Australia and New Zealand and you can find them here if you Google it, but people are charging between $26-29 bucks per bottle, which is outrageous! Two of the colors I really wanted were gone when she went to pick them up, so I have only two to show, but they are really great anyway!

OPI Baby Blue OPI Yokohama

Baby Blue really isn’t “blue” per se. It’s more of a blue/green with a very strong yellow duochrome effect. It’s like nothing else I own and so fabulous! The application was fabulous if a wee bit sheer. The color reminds me of mermaid scales, if such a thing existed. This was three coats.

OPI Breathe Life

Morning! As you may have heard, OPI came out with a special limited edition polish called Breathe Life to promote awareness of lung cancer in women and to help the Lung Cancer Foundation of America. Here is some information:

The facts
can leave you breathless: Lung cancer is the #1 killer of women, making
it more deadly than the six next largest cancer killers combined. And
60% of new lung cancer victims will be non-smokers.

For these reasons, OPI is proud to join with the Lung Cancer Foundation of America (LCFA). LCFA’s primary goal is not just to prevent lung cancer, but to cure it. To help “breathe life” into raising funds for early detection, diagnosis, and a cure, OPI has created an exclusive new Nail Lacquer called Breathe Life – a fresh-air, silvery-blue.

“The statistics are shocking. Lung cancer has stopped our breathing long enough, and we need to stop it now,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.

In addition to this new Nail Lacquer, OPI has also made a donation to LCFA. “Because LCFA
is a new organization, working on the frontlines at the grassroots
level, every dollar contributed makes a tremendous impact,” Weiss-Fischmann says.

This is a cause I strongly believe in since my day to day job is at a Biotechnology company that makes drugs for cancer patients. Check out the pics taken in sun with no top coat.

OPI South Beach for Spring 2009 – Part II

Happy hump day! So here we are with the second part of the OPI South Beach collection for spring 2009. These are the ones that worked better on me and I found to be a bit more interesting. Still though, with the exception of Done Out In Deco, they are all very safe and rather hum drum. Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

OPI Paint My Moji Toes Red OPI South Beach for Spring 2009 Part II

Yep it’s red. That’s about all I can really say, another middle of the road poppy-ish red creme. Nice, but nothing new or particularly interesting about it. It leans towards the blue so might work better on fair skin. This was three coats.

OPI South Beach for Spring 2009 – Part I

Today I am bringing you part 1 of my OPI South Beach swatches for spring 2009. The formula on all of these was fabulous, as almost all OPI’s are. I had not a single issue with cuticle drag, sheerness or bubbles. I have to say, the ones I am showing today are not my favs of this collection, those come in Part 2. Pics taken in sun with no top coat.

OPI Sand In My Suit OPI South Beach for Spring 2009 Part I

Sand In My Suit actually turned out to be nicer on me than I would have thought. The color is like a golden beige with gold shimmer and for a neutral color, I actually really liked it. I think it could work on either fair or dark skin tones. This was three coats to get it completely opaque.
