Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics has a new collection out called The Garden Collection this spring/summer.

This collection features five new Nail Lacquers (and a re-promote), five Loose Colour Concentrates, and six new Lip Tars. It was inspired by poisonous and psychotropic plants (oooh groovy!) as well as more earthy tones found in nature.

Recently OCC changed their bottle shape from a soft square to this harder rectangle shape. I like the way they look and line up. However, and this only really applies to those blogging about nail polish, the shape makes it really hard to hold and get an attractive photo of your hands! So I apologize in advance for the lame finger angles, but I did my best with my short digits.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pretty Boy Nail Lacquer Collection for fall actually kind of looks like spring or summer colors in my eyes. But that’s not a bad thing at all!

Looking at them in the bottle I was a little mystified as to why these would be fall collection, but I like that they don’t always go the “normal” route. Keeps things interesting.

In the bottle I was less than excited about most of these, to be honest. They looked a little boring to me. But once I swatched them I really, truly liked almost all of them.

The formula was really great with every one of these. Perfect, opaque and smooth application. All were just two coats.

Continuing with the OCC Pretty Boy Collection for fall 2011, I now have the new Loose Colours, Pure Pigments and Glitter from the collection!

I am a big fan of their Loose Colours since they are always super soft and super pigmented. These are the first pure pigments and glitter I have tried out though.

Some info about these products:

Pure Pigments are 100% pure uncut pigments. They are matte finished powders and can be used alone but also mixed in with mixing mediums, primer, lotions and clear lip tar. Use them sparingly! They come in seven colors.

Cosmetic Glitters are micronized glitter which can be used for face and body art. They aren’t for use in the immediate eye area and come in thirteen colors.

Loose Colour Concentrates are micronized colour pigments fused with shimmering mica. You can use these on the eyes or body. They are lightweight and very pigmented. You can mix them with primer or mixing medium as well. They come in thirty-six colors.

OCC (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics) has a new fall 2011 collection out called Pretty Boy which includes six fabulous new Lip Tars! Yahoooo!

Most of these are very wearable colors straight out of the tube, but as you know, they can be mixed and matched to your heart’s content as well.

OCC is a vegan and cruelty-free company so they are definitely one of my favs. There is no guessing with them!

If you aren’t familiar with Lip Tars, here’s the skinny. They come in what looks like a lip gloss tube, but they are really super incredibly saturated colors that are more like a lipstick consistency with a shiny gloss finish.

You DO NOT apply them straight out of the tube (as the opening might imply) because things will get very messy very quickly. Rather, put just the smallest amount you can imagine on a lip brush and apply that way. If you have feathering happening on your lips, you used too much.

They last forever, are very opaque and have a peppermint scent to them.

Happy Saturday!

Saturday is THE best day of the week and here’s why:

• The previous week is in your rear-view mirror
• You don’t have to work the next day
• You get to sleep in for TWO days in a row
• You get to stay up late!
• You don’t have to work the next day. Oh whoops I think we covered that one

But I digress.

We are here to discuss the new OCC nail lacquer collection for spring/summer 2011 called Lo-Fi.

Lo-Fi consists of six new color with various finishes.

I must admit, I find this collection to be a little “meh”. I feel like some of these colors we’ve seen a lot of and some just missed the mark for me personally.

The formula was a bit all over also. Some were thick and very opaque, while others were thin and sheer and yet another was…chunky? Hmm.

A.V.

A.V. is a whitish grey with very fine rainbow colored shimmer. I like the color of this one and feel it’s fairly unique. The formula was very thick and opaque, you almost only need one coat, but I did use two. Nice!
