Milani Smoothe Base Coat & Glosse Top Coat, a Kick-Ass Pair!

Milani Smoothe Base Glosse Top Milani Smoothe Base Coat & Glosse Top Coat, a Kick Ass Pair!

Recently I have been testing out two new nail products from Milani: Smoothé Base Coat and Glossé Top Coat. Does adding an extra “e” to the end of these make them better? Maybe! icon biggrin Milani Smoothe Base Coat & Glosse Top Coat, a Kick Ass Pair!

Smoothé Base Coat“A ridge-filling base coat designed to prime your nails for the perfect color application. This formula was created with a combination of Okoumé AE and Botanical Extract of Bamboo to fight ridged weak and aged nails.”

Glossé Top Coat“A quick drying, high gloss clear coating that accelerates the drying time of nail enamel while also providing sunscreen protection for your manicure.  This product contains UV obsorbers to help protect the color from fading, and acrylic that provides a hard & chip resistant coating for extended wear.”

The base coat goes on milky white and dries pretty quickly to a smooth velvety finish. I like that it dries quickly and it’s a nice base coat. Nothing THAT amazing, but solid and good.

The top coat is where the magic happens.

First off it is ultra-shiny, as shiny as Nubar Diamont or Seche Vite. It is thick, but not as thick as the previously mentioned ones, and it’s easy to apply. It’s also self-leveling, which is a must for me.

As far as dry time, it is very quick, but takes maybe a couple minutes longer to be dry to the touch than Diamont or Seche Vite. But still you can lightly touch it within 3-4 minutes I would say, then it’s fully dry in about 30 minutes. Continue reading »

Milani Liquif-Eye Metallic Eye Liner Pencil in Aqua Swatches & Review

Milani Liquif Eye Metallic Liner Milani Liquif Eye Metallic Eye Liner Pencil in Aqua Swatches & Review

Last year around this time I reviewed the new Milani Liquif-Eye Metallic Eye Liner Pencils. I had all of them then except the one I wanted the most, which was Aqua.

Aqua is a gorgeous shimmery blue. A color I always classify as mermaid-esque. icon smile Milani Liquif Eye Metallic Eye Liner Pencil in Aqua Swatches & Review

These pencils are creamy and super saturated. They go on so easily and have great staying power.

They are on the softer side, so frequent sharpening is necessary.

Milani Liquif-Eye Liquid Eye Liner Automatic Propel Pencils Swatches & Review

Milani Liquif Eye Automatic Liner Milani Liquif Eye Liquid Eye Liner Automatic Propel Pencils Swatches & Review

Have you seen the new Milani Liquif-Eye Automatic Eye Liners yet? They are pretty cool!

Right now they come in three colors

  • Green – Deep forest green with glitter
  • Blue - Vivid medium blue with glitter
  • Purple – Dark royal purple with glitter

They are called Liquif-Eye because they are meant to give the same easy smooth application as a liquid liner does. Well I can say they are definitely not like a liquid liner, but they do apply easily and are very creamy and saturated.

They are smudge-proof and last a very long time. In fact even on my hand swatch I had to use a really good remover to get it completely off.

I wouldn’t use them on the waterline because of the glitter particles.

Milani Marbleized Baked Eyeshadow Swatches & Review

Milani Baked Eyeshadow2 Milani Marbleized Baked Eyeshadow Swatches & Review

Whilst perusing through my local CVS recently, I came across a display of a new product by Milani: Baked Eyeshadows. They come in a variety of colors and have regular and marbleized versions.

They all looked nice, but the marbleized ones especially caught my attention because the colors looked SO amazing and pigmented. I couldn’t resist, so I picked up a few.

I have to say I very pretty impressed with the pigmentation with all of these. They are very pigmented and even dry, look really good. They feel very soft and easy to work with.
