TGIF! Yeah I know, I am supposed to be posting Friday Favorites but yet again I couldn’t get it together in time. This week has been a killer. One of those weeks where I just couldn’t focus on anything. All I wanted to do was sit on the couch and zone out on TV or sleep. Oy. But I do have something pretty for you nonetheless!
The Hourglass Modernist Eyeshadow Palette in Color Field is one of six new Modernist Palettes and in my humble opinion, the prettiest one. The other ones include Atmosphere (cool neutrals), Exposure (plums), Infinity (warm neutrals), Monochrome (rose), and Obscura (earth tones).
These eyeshadows look like little miniature colorful mountains. The five colors inside all blend into one seamless palette. The finishes go from matte to shimmery. You can even use the darkest shade as an eyeliner, and apply them wet or dry. They are really beautiful to look at, that’s definitely the #1 selling point!
The first shade is a very light vanilla matte.
The second shade is a light shimmery champagne/tan.
The third shade is a medium shimmery warm-toned brown.
The fourth shade is a deep metallic olive green.
The fifth shade is a dark green with gold sparkles.
All of these feel extremely soft, nearly like cremes. With the exception of the first one, they are all very nicely pigmented and you barely have to touch them to pick up a lot of color. The shades all blend perfectly together and the last three in particular are really gorgeous. I like that you can use this for a really neutral daytime eye using just the brown shades or totally smoke it out using the dark green shades for night. Or day, hell, I don’t judge! 😉
It’s definitely on the pricey side because it is Hourglass after-all, but this is a really great palette and I’m very pleased with the texture and pigmentation.
