Somehow the Finger Paints Wild About Spring collection wasn’t on my radar! But I was recently at Sally Beauty Supply, saw it and picked up a few of the coolest looking ones.

Finger Paints Summer in the City is a new six-piece collection featuring mostly bright pops of color in various finishes.
As far as formula, there were a couple small issues. A few of the creme shades were really thick and gloopy on the wand. Both of the blue polishes (To-Teally Hot and Late Night Rendez-vouz) immediately dyed my nails blue, and wouldn’t completely come off. That’s actually fairly typical for me and super pigmented blue nail polish. Most of the Finger Paints blue shades dye my nails more than most other brands for some reason!
Sexy Sundress
Sexy Sundress is a bright lime green/yellow creme. This isn’t a dupe for OPI Who The Shrek Are you? though. That one is a little more subdued and less lime, more pea green. This is brighter. This was one of the really thick gloopy ones, but the color is nice nonetheless. My coats were too thick her, and you can see some areas where it doesn’t lay flat. This was still three coats despite the thickness.
The next big trend now that we have gone through tons and tons of crackles and then magnetic polishes is definitely flake glitter. It seems as though everyone is now coming out with their own version (more coming soon that haven’t yet been announced yet 
) and I am NOT complaining about this trend! Flake glitters are my absolute favorite “effect” in a nail polish. To me they are better than duo-chromes, multi-chromes, holographics, regular glitters, bar glitters, crackles, magnetics, etc. I LOVE them. I love the irregular pattern of them and love how they make your nails looks like they are glowing. Plus they are usually much easier to remove than traditional glitter.
Finger Paints jumped on board with their new Special Effects Collection only available at Sally Beauty Supply starting in January.
This collection includes five different flake glitters: Asylum, Flecked, Twisted, Motley and Flashy. They are all set in a clear base, so are best used over a black or dark color. I used two coats of the flake glitters over a black base for all photos. You can get a good amount of flake coverage though using just one coat, but I prefer two.

Now that Halloween is over it’s time to REALLY launch into all that is the HOLIDAYS!!!
I for one am more shocked this year than ever that next month is Christmas already. Just last night I was looking at some candles on my coffee table that I switch out to red ones in December, and I thought “I JUST put the red ones back into the garage like 2 months ago”! But nooooo, it was 10 months ago! So strange.
Anyway, that leads me to the FingerPaints Merry & Bright Collection for holiday 2011. This collection of six new colors includes three glitters, two amazing cremes and a shimmery green metallic.
