China Glaze Avant Garden for Spring 2013 Swatches & Review

China Glaze Avant Garden

China Glaze Avant Garden is the new collection for spring 2013 and features twelve shades.

This collection is obviously inspired by all the soft and bright shades of all the blooming flowers this time of year. Ok well technically it’s not “this time of year” because it’s still winter! Close enough. ;)

There are some really interesting unique shades here, and some maybe we’ve seen before. The formula in general for these was good. Some were just two coats, some three.

Blue, Red & White Holiday Dot Mani

Holiday 2012 Dot Mani

When you think of Christmas colors traditionally you think of green, red, white, gold and silver right? But my favorite combo is actually a bit different.

I love a pale, icy blue with red and white. It’s actually one of my favorite color combinations in general, not just for Christmas. But something about it does say the holidays to me.

For this manicure I used Jessica Barely Blueberry for the base (three coats) then China Glaze With Love and Snow for the various sized dots.

Enjoy!

China Glaze Tranzitions Official Information & Photos

China Glaze Tranzitions

There’s nail art and then there’s China Glaze nail couture. Reverse French manicure, half moons, ombre, basket weave, dots or racing stripes: nail designs are intricate and multi-colored. China Glaze introduces a new way to get multi-color, unique nail art with fewer bottles of polish with the new color-changing Tranzitions collection!

China Glaze Tranzitions’ revolutionary new nail lacquer reacts when a clear top coat is applied, changing the color from one shade to another for a stunning effect. Wear any of the six beautiful, color-shifting shades alone, or allow your creativity to run wild and create intricate nail designs by applying a top coat in specific places. Try different looks using nail art brushes, free-hand designs, or nail guides. Because each shade changes color, you get two lacquers in one, creating an entirely new look with just one swipe.

The China Glaze Tranzitions collection features six shades, though with the color transition, you get 12 unique shades including:

  • Split Perso-NAIL-ity – Dusty pink shifts to fuchsia
  • Duplicityy – Mint green shifts to vibrant teal
  • Modify Me – Periwinkle blue shifts to indigo blue
  • Altered Reality – Teal blue shifts to turquoise
  • Metallic Metamorphosis – Silvery grey shifts to bluish-charcoal grey
  • Shape Shifter – Smokey violet shifts to dark purple

China Glaze Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away Collection Swatches & Review

China Glaze Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away

China Glaze Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away collection is limited edition and was inspired by the Cirque du Soleil film which is coming to theaters December 21st.

I am lucky enough to have seen a couple Cirque shows in person. The first time was in 1994 and it was called Alegria. The company I worked for took us for the holiday party. It was held in a tent and it was the first time I had ever heard of this show. I was amazed! Then a couple years ago I saw “O” at Bellagio in Vegas and that was 10 times more amazing than the first time. I highly recommend seeing a show in person.

China Glaze Holiday Glitter Tipped Nails Featuring For Audrey

China Glaze For Audrey Holiday NailsOK

Last week when I was playing around with China Glaze For Audrey I decided it might be festive to do a glittery tipped nail look with it as the base.

I kinda sorta like what I came up with. This was my first attempt at doing this kind of nail and it’s really pretty straightforward. I did learn that you have to use a nicely contrasting shade for the tip and also ensure the glitter is large enough. Initially I tried a different silver glitter and it was too fine and “sugary” so it didn’t show up as much.
