Note: Not cruelty free

I am becoming something I never thought I would be: a Bobbi Brown fan. Do people who like heavy metal music and zombie movies become Bobbi Brown fans? Apparently yes.

No really, I always considered Bobbi Brown makeup to be nice, but you know, meant for super conservative makeup wearers or those over age 40. Um, then I realized I AM age 40. But honestly, just because something is marketed to be more “natural” or for “older” women (I REFUSE to say I am “older” by the way, considering I still think of myself as being 22) doesn’t mean it’s not great for people of all ages. Look past the marketing and all that stuff, and focus on the actual product inside.

I was recently at the nearest Cosmetics Company Outlet (CCO) in Napa and there was a slew of Bobbi Brown items. Nothing much else interested me there so I was playing around with some of her items and was super impressed with the payoff and shades. So what the hell, I bought some!

Bobbi Brown is a brand I am just recently becoming familiar with. I always associated them with being a boring brand for older women with blah colors. But I’m finding out that’s really not the case!

Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Gloss is a line of super shimmery lip glosses that come in thirteen colors. Many of them available online only.

These glosses are vitamin enriched with C and E, and have antioxidant protection in them. They are very glossy, shimmery and moisturizing. They are lacking in one key element for me though…Pigmentation!

This might amaze you but I have hardly ever tried anything from Bobbi Brown!

In fact the only things I have tried are her under-eye moisturizer (which is great) and her pink concealer (which is my go-to pink concealer). Other than that, I am a Bobbi Brown “virgin”.

I was at Bloomingdales getting my brows done at the Benefit Brow Bar, and while I was there I wanted to try out the Clinique Gel Liner I have heard so much about. Well they were out of the black and I happened to tweet that. A couple people tweeted back and mentioned I should try the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliners so I headed over to the counter and took a peek.

I was kind of mesmerized by what I saw. There were a lot of really nice looking shades and some other items I was really interested in. I settled for just getting two of the liners though in Black Ink and Denim Ink. For now.
