Milani Mechanical Glitter Eye Liner Swatches & Review

Aloha!

Milani has some new mechanical eye liners out that are glittery and sparkly. They come in 6 different colors, and I’ve got five of them to show you below.

These liners come in a mechanical pencil type of packaging, which makes it pretty easy to use. The tip is nicely pointed and the other end of the pencil holds a nice little sponge for smudging. I have to say personally though, I have never really used those smudging sponges that come with eye liners, I prefer a nice makeup brush for that.

Milani Infinite Liquid Eye Liner Swatches & Review

Hey there!

Milani Infinite Milani Infinite Liquid Eye Liner Swatches & Review

Milani has some seriously amazing new liquid eye liners out for spring 2010 called Infinite. They come in five different colors and have serious color impact!

I swatched these the other day and was pretty pleased with how much color these put off. I always am a wee bit weary of drug store cosmetics because a lot of times I have found that they are seriously lacking in either formula or opacity, but not these!

Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne Perfume

YSL Parisienne Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne Perfume

Yves Saint Laurent recently came out with a new perfume called Parisienne, and I was sent a bottle to review, so here goes!

Now I must tell you I am no perfume expert, but I do own quite a few perfumes, most of them in the “floral” range. This one fits rights in.

When I first sprayed it into the air (which I normally do because if I hate the smell I do not want it on me all day long) I thought it was too strong, and there way no way I would like it. After a minute or two though it mellowed out, and I started to think maybe it wasn’t so bad.

I decided to go one step further and actually spray into the air, then walk underneath it to get a light “dusting” on me, as it were. The first scent (after initial overwhelmingness) that I got was of rose. I happen to love rose scents, some of my favorite perfumes have rose in them. After about 5-10 minutes I started to smell a slight muskiness to it. Normally I cannot stand musk scents, they make me nauseous and seem extremely strong to my sensitive nose. However this was very subtle, and still mixed in with the flower note, so it actually was pretty nice.

After that initial test, I wore it to work the next day. The Hubbie actually didn’t mind it, which is saying A LOT because he’s really sensitive to smell, especially in the morning, which is when I sprayed it on. He dislikes musk more than me, but this didn’t bother him at all.

As far as staying power I really can’t comment on it. I’m one of those people who can no longer smell perfume on themselves after like an hour, so I have no clue if it was still on me or not after all day. I have heard though that the reason we can’t smell it anymore is because our noses adjust to the scent, it’s not that it’s worn off. So whatever that’s worth to you, there it is!

Even though packaging isn’t really the main reason I would buy or test anything out, I have to say the bottle is really attractive on this perfume. Some perfume bottles just are so 80′s or look way over the top fancy, but this looks somehow very sexy and Parisian to me.

Overall I really liked this perfume and would recommend it to anyone who likes florals mixed with very subtle musky scents.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Swatches and Review

What’s shakin’ Internet?

As you may or may not know, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics has some killer lip shades called Lip Tar. Now I have reviewed their nail polish in the past, but hadn’t tried anything else of theirs. Until now. I was hearing about these SO MUCH on blogs, Twitter and You Tube so I thought, what more perfect opportunity to try them out than Halloween?

Lip Tars are like a combination of lipstick and lip gloss. They are extremely opaque like a lipstick, but glossy and smooth like a lip gloss. They are meant to be mixed, so you can create a ton of different colors. They are also very moist, and contain Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil and Vitamin E. They are vegan and cruelty-free as well!

The colors I got are ones that will go best with my costume (gothic vampire) and they are NSFW and Tarred. Check them out along with goofy pics of me wearing them!

NSFW

NSFW is a true, classic red. This color screams 1950′s red to me, it’s just perfect. Not only is the color perfect, the consistency of this stuff is freakin amazing! I can’t even begin to explain the opacity here. It is SO opaque and thick, and not runny or sticky at all. I took just the tiniest amount on a lip brush, and placed it on my lip and it covered so much area. I used hardly any to do my whole lip. The texture is really nice, it’s creamy, and like I said NO stickiness whatsoever. It has a very mild mint scent to it. What I love about this one compared to a lot of the other colors is that it can be worn straight out of the tube, doesn’t need to be mixed or toned down or anything to look “normal”. This one stayed in place very well also, I didn’t use a lip liner, but I didn’t have it on for long either so I can’t comment on longevity of the product.

L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Mascara Swatches and Review

Hey ya’ll!

Today instead of showing you nail polish, I am going to do a review of a brand spankin’ new mascara by L’Oreal called Telescopic Explosion Mascara in black. This is an honest review of this product, which I am not getting paid for.

When I first opened up the package I was like, um ok it looks like a normal mascara, I wonder how this is going to be any different? Then I opened it up and saw the wand and kind of shrieked a little bit in fright.
