Why hello there!
The new essie Summer 2017 Collection, which includes six new shades, was inspired by Parisian pastries, and I can definitely tell that just by looking at them. There are three cremes, a hidden shimmer, a shimmer and a candy-colored foil in the collection.
Formula-wise things were a bit hit or miss here. The more pastel cremes and hidden shimmer shade needed three thin coats to apply evenly. The coral shimmer, bright creme and foil had a better formula and covered with just two coats.
Sweet Souffle is a pearly white with hidden golden shimmer. It’s a wee bit uneven unless you use three coats.
Baguette Me Not is a light lilac creme. This one needs three coats to cover.
Blue-La-La is a pastel sky blue creme. This is three coats.
Fondant Of You is a bright coral with gold and orange shimmer. This covered nicely with two coats.
Eclair My Love is a bright poppy pink creme. This is two coats.
S’il Vous Play is a light pink foil. This covered with two coats.
And there you have it. There are a couple shades here that I think are particularly interesting and they are Sweet Souffle and Fondant Of You, but then again I am a sucker for a shimmer. The cremes aren’t very unique and easily dupe-able. I do think S’il Vous Play is nice but not really my kind of shade.
You can find the essie Summer 2017 Collection on their site and in stores now.
