MakeupGeek Plush Creme

Hi there and happy almost Friday!

I recently had the chance to try out the MakeupGeek Plush Creme lipsticks and have some thoughts and swatches to share with you. Plush Cremes are a cross between a cream and a mousse texture. They sit on top of your lips and have a creamier, smoother feel than any matte liquid lipstick. They have a nice sized double-sided flat sponge applicator and come in see-through tubes, so you can see the exact color inside. They currently are available in 9 shades.

MakeupGeek Plush Creme

Jetsetter, Troublemaker, Prankster, Free Spirit, Trophy Wife

Jetsetter is a light peachy brown.

Troublemaker is a muted lilac.

Prankster is a bright purple/pink.

Free Spirit is a bright orange/red.

Trophy Wife is a bright candy apple red.

These are definitely very different feeling from other lipsticks in good and bad ways. Ok not really bad per se, just more work – let me explain. They have such a thin, light texture that I had to dip the applicator into the tube a few times for each color to get enough on my lips. Somehow the product doesn’t seem to cover a sizable area of my lips very well. Also, I had to apply a little more than I figured I would as they weren’t super saturated. But you can build them up, and they are quite even once you get the hang of them. They are definitely more comfortable on my lips than the matte lipsticks, and as you can see, they have a shinier finish to them. Sometimes those matte lipsticks make every single line in the lips seriously stand out and these don’t do that, which I love. I liked all of these shades on me (except Jetsetter which doesn’t really go with my skin tone) but my favorites are Troublemaker and Free Spirit.

You can find the MakeupGeek Plush Creme colors on their site and they are $14.00 each.

Are you interested in trying any of these out?
