Formula X The System Xcel

TGIF! Any fun weekend plans? I don’t really have much planned, maybe catch a movie if there is anything good out. I cannot wait for Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children to come out! Ok, let’s dig into this post, shall we?

Formula X The System Xcel is a new four-piece customizable gel-like mani set now at Sephora. The system includes three nail basics which are Cleanse, Prime and Shine. Cleanse is the first step in a great mani as it removes all oils on the nails and dries super quickly. The next step is Prime, which is a base coat made with keratin and advanced bonding agents to help polish last longer. Then you get to choose a color from a decent sized list of their shades. Finally use Shine, which is an acrylic-fortified quick-dry top coat with a gel-like shine and finish.

Formula X Delete All

Delete All 5-Finger Nail Polish Remover doesn’t come with the set, however I love it and have blogged about it before. It’s super easy to use and works very quickly. It does dry out my nails a bit (which are already on the dry side) so I don’t use it for every removal. It’s definitely really great for glitters and more stubborn polishes especially!

Formula X Unmistakeable

This is me wearing Unmistakeable (a pale, dusty blue creme – two coats) with the entire system. You can see how shiny the top coat makes my nails look and it dried super quickly.

Now the whole thing with this system is that it supposedly gets up to 10 days of wear. As you know that is never, ever the case with me. I didn’t even do a wear test since 99% of the time nothing lasts more than 2 days max on me, and I don’t really care about wear because I change my polish so often. I do like that the base coat made my ridges disappear under their polish, and the top coat is very glossy and quick-to-dry. I’m not sure I am in love with the Cleanse stuff because it seemed to dry my nails out a bit. If you don’t have really dry nails like me though it may work better.

You can find the Formula X The System Xcel only at Sephora and it’s $32.00 for the set (includes Cleanse, Prime, a free color and Shine). Delete All is $15.00 and WELL worth it in my book!
