Milani Fierce Foil Nail Lacquer is a new and limited edition collection coming out at CVS stores soon (if not already.)
These have a super glittery multi-dimensional foil finish, and each one is named after a city in Italy.
When I first heard about these I was wondering just how foil-like they would really be, and after swatching them I feel like they aren’t very foil-like. Shimmery? Yes. Glittery? Yes. Colorful? Yes. But foil? Nope. They do have a pretty nice formula though, and I only needed two coats for each one. I didn’t have any issues with them, other than some mess with removal.
Sardinia is a white with gold flecks. This is the only one that was on the sheer side even with a couple coats.
Milan is a super intense gold. There are flecks of cool-toned gold as well as warmer colored gold, which makes it very multi-dimensional and fun.
Rome is an orchid with gold flecks. Very feminine and pretty looking.
Capri is a bright pink with gold flecks and blue/purple shimmer. I really like this one because it’s so vibrant and has a lot of different colors in the shimmer.
Florence is an intense green with gold flecks. I like this one also because it seems to have more gold flakes than most of the others and they really show up nicely.
Venice is a bright sapphire blue with blue and pink shimmer. The pink shimmer is a lot more obvious in the bottle than on the nail, unfortunately. You do see it more in person than in this photo, but the lighter blue shimmer is more dominant. There aren’t any gold flakes in this one.
I feel like the best ones were Milan, Rome, Capri and Florence in terms of payoff, unique-ness and looks in general. I think these are fun nail shades, but really don’t think of them as having a true foil finish.
These will be available at CVS (for a limited time) and are $3.99 each.
