Deborah Lippmann Fantastical Collection

The Deborah Lippmann Fantastical Collection for Holiday 2014 has arrived at VV HQ!

This limited edition collection consists of six new shades that you might not expect in a holiday collection. Indeed, it’s a nice departure from the standard reds, greens, golds and silvers we see so much of. Three of these are saturated shimmers and three are glitters featuring various types and sized glitter.

Deborah Lippmann Weird Science

Weird Science

Weird Science is a chartreuse shimmer. This is a really vibrant and saturated green and I am completely smitten with it. For some reason I thought the formula was going to be sheer but it’s actually fairly thick and I only needed two coats. Fantastic color and the name is perfect.

Deborah Lippmann Xanadu

Xanadu

Xanadu is a cerulean blue that has a pink shift and iridescent mica glitter. Ok so this one is pretty sheer and it took me three coats to get it built up. It’s really pretty though, always shifting and changing.

Deborah Lippmann Dear Mr.Fantasy

Dear Mr.Fantasy

Dear Mr. Fantasy is a bright magenta shimmer. This is definitely not something I would expect in a holiday collection and I love it. The shade is so intense and beautiful. This was just two coats.

Deborah Lippmann Dream Weaver

Dream Weaver

Dream Weaver is a blue/green/purple multichrome shimmer. This changes colors constantly and it’s really pretty, though maybe not all that unique. This did take me three thin coats to get it completely opaque.

Deborah Lippmann Marrakesh Express

Marrakesh Express

Marrakesh Express has a orange base with pink shimmer and rough cut gold glitter shards. Very unique shade – I don’t think I have ever seen a polish like this with the shards of glitter. The one thing was that the glitter didn’t want to stay in place very well, so you have to be patient when applying it. This was three thin coats and I kind of dabbed the glitter where I wanted it.

Deborah Lippmann Magic Carpet Ride

Magic Carpet Ride

Magic Carpet Ride has a black base and is packed with various colors of glitter in diamond, circle and hexagon shapes. This one I didn’t love. To me the glitter is so chunky and there are so many larger shapes that it just looks like a clumpy mess. It took just two coats to cover, but I feel like it’s too muddy looking.

This collection is available now at Sephora, Nordstrom, and Deborah Lippmann. The shimmers retail for $18.00 and the glitters are $20.00.
