Gwen Stefani for OPI Holiday 2014

As you have no doubt heard by now (get it?), there is a new limited edition Gwen Stefani for OPI holiday 2014 collection out!

In the collection there are eighteen shades, many of them red. Now normally I would sigh and be like “UGH MORE REDS FOR CHRISTMAS OPI?” but since Gwen is kind of known for wearing red lips and nails, it makes more sense, and I can forgive them. But next year *shakes fist!*

Like a silly child on Christmas morn’, I was so excited to take bottles shots of these I didn’t bother looking at the press release first to see that in fact there were eighteen shades, not twelve like I first thought. Mine came in two separate boxes, so I thought it was a twelve piece collection then another six piece one. So as you can see, I didn’t photograph all the bottles together. Live and learn. 😉

Gwen Stefani for OPI Holiday 2014-2

OPI Fashion a Bow

Fashion a Bow

Fashion a Bow is a bright red/orange jelly. It applied smoothly and on the sheer side but three thin coats builds it up nicely. It’s very shiny and squishy looking.

OPI What's Your Point-Settia?

What’s Your Point-settia?

What’s Your Point-settia? is a classic red creme. Nothing too exciting to see here folks, but it is a nice shiny red. This was two coats.

OPI Cinnamon Sweet

Cinnamon Sweet

Cinnamon Sweet is a deep warm-toned red creme. This is my favorite of the reds because it’s very creamy and rich looking. This was two coats.

OPI Just Be-Claus

Just Be-Claus

Just Be-Claus is a deep maroon creme. Nice formula, this was two coats.

OPI In a Holidaze

In a Holidaze

In a Holidaze is a maroon jelly. It’s not as dark as Just Be-Claus, and is very squishy looking. This was two thin coats.

OPI Christmas Gone Plaid

Christmas Gone Plaid

Christmas Gone Plaid is a deep forest green creme. Loving this one! This had a good formula and covered nicely with two coats.

OPI Kiss Me-or Elf!

Kiss Me-or Elf!

Kiss Me-or Elf! is a reddish violet shimmer. Now this is a true beauty! It is a wee bit on the brush stroke-y side but not too bad. It looks like glowing jewels. This was two coats.

OPI I Carol About You

I Carol About You

I Carol About You is a dark royal purple shimmer. Another really beautiful shade, if not that unique. This had a great formula but I did use three thin coats.

OPI Sleigh Parking Only

Sleigh Parking Only

Sleigh Parking Only is a very dark burgundy creme. This had an amazing pigmented formula but the color isn’t all that exciting to me. Very shiny and just two coats.

OPI Love is Hot and Coal

Love is Hot and Coal

Love is Hot and Coal is a dark grey/brown shimmer. I like this one simply because it’s unusual and pretty unique. It looks both brown and grey at the same time and had a great formula. This was two coats.

OPI Red Fingers & Mistletoes

Red Fingers & Mistletoes

Red Fingers & Mistletoes is a red with tons of red and gold shimmer. I adore this! It reminds me of a beautiful candied apple. The formula was really good, the color is really mesmerizing and it was two coats.

OPI First Class Desires

First Class Desires

First Class Desires is a deep eggplant with gobs of gold shimmer. This is so beautiful you guys, you must see it in person. This is my favorite one because it’s unique, amazing and had an excellent formula. This was two coats.

OPI Rollin' in Cashmere

Rollin’ in Cashmere

Rollin’ in Cashmere is a warm-toned gold shimmer/frost. Despite the brush stroke-y nature of this one, I rather like it. It has a satin-like finish and I think it’s a really pretty gold shade. This was two coats.

OPI Unfrost My Heart

Unfrost My Heart

Unfrost My Heart is a super silver foil. I mean it’s cool because it’s very pigmented and incredibly smooth, but I have definitely seen this shade/formula before. This was two coats.

OPI Snow Globetrotter

Snow Globetrotter

Snow Globetrotter (over black) has a clear base and white and iridescent glitter flakes. Obviously this will work best over another color. It’s really pretty but it is a bit hard to get the larger glitter bits out of the bottle and evenly onto the nail. This is just one coat here.

OPI So Elegant

So Elegant

So Elegant (over white) has a clear base and has black and chrome glitter. I love this one and didn’t expect to. I found that the larger chrome glitter pieces came out easily and were nice and flat on the nail. I got a good amount of all shapes/sizes with each coat and I think it’s unique. This was two coats.

OPI I'll Tinsel You In

I’ll Tinsel You In

I’ll Tinsel You In (over red) has a clear base and has white and black glitter in various shapes. Normally I really dislike bar glitter but for some reason this color combo doesn’t look bad to me. There are pieces of large white square glitter in here, but they are hard to get out of the bottle and none wound up on my nails with one coat.

OPI Comet In The Sky

Comet In The Sky

Comet in the Sky (over red) has a clear base and has black and iridescent glitter in all shapes and sizes. This looks so amazingly cool in the bottle, but on the nail I didn’t love it. The larger iridescent and black pieces tend to clump together so you have to kind of work to spread everything out nicely. I dunno, it’s not for me. This was two coats.

Gwen Stefani for OPI Holiday 2014

This collection has some really great shades and my personal faves are Kiss Me-or Elf!, Love is Hot and Coal, Red Fingers & Mistletoes, First Class Desires and So Elegant.

You can find this at Ulta, Regis, Dillard’s starting this month and everything is $9.50.

What are you seeing here that you are loving enough to buy?
