The Nordic Collection by OPI for fall 2014 has arrived!
This new twelve-piece fall trends collection features shades inspired by the northern lights of Finland, deep blue fjords in Norway and colorful houses in Copenhagen. Since I have been on a hardcore Nordic obsession this past year, I am super excited about these shades.
Here is what Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, the Co-Founder and Executive VP of OPI says about the collection ” While conceptualizing the shades of the Nordic Collection, I ate cinnamon buns and drank glogg, snapped photographs of brightly painted houses, and gazed in wonder at the region’s topography – from the northern lights and midnight sun to lava flats and deep fjords. All of these diverse elements came together to inspire an equally varied array of colors that capture the aesthetic of the Nordic region. ”
Man I wish I could have been there with her!
Going My Way or Norway? is a caramel creme. Mmm just saying caramel creme has my mouth watering. I love this kind of oddball shade much more than I expected to. It has a wonderful creamy formula and this is two coats.
Ice-Bergers & Fries is a deep, warm chocolate creme. And now I want a cheeseburger, fries and chocolate shake! This is a really great shade and another one I didn’t expect to love as much as I do. Great formula, this was two coats.
OPI with a Nice Finn-ish is a light bronze metallic. Super pretty! This didn’t interest me much on the bottle but on the nail it’s very flattering. It does have a slightly brush-stroke-y finish, but covered with two thin coats.
Can’t aFjörd Not To is a bright coral creme. Beautiful shade, I love it. This had a very slightly uneven application but overall pretty darn good. This was two coats.
How Great is Your Dane? is a very dark cool-toned brown creme. So gorgeous, this photo doesn’t do it justice. It reminds me of a darker version of Over the Taupe, which is one of my very favorite OPI shades ever. This had a great formula and was two coats.
Suzi Has a Swede Tooth is a candy-colored pink creme. Pretty shade, but not unique. Good formula just a wee bit uneven and this was two coats.
My Dogsled is a Hybrid is a sea-green creme. STUNNING! I love this because it’s not a mint and not a jade, but a beautiful sea-green. Really nice formula, this covered in two coats.
Do You have This Color in Stock-holm? is a cool-toned blue-violet creme. Ok this is a must-have for any purple or blue lover. It’s super rich, super pigmented but still very vivid. Amazing formula, this was two coats.
Thank Glogg It’s Friday! is a red/purple shimmer. Lawd have mercy she is a stunner! So jewel-toned and glowy. Yum. Great formula, perfect with two coats.
Skating on Thin Ice-Land is a blackened cherry creme. This baby is super dark but obviously a deep purple not black. It was a little on the uneven side for me so I used three thin coats.
Viking in a Vinter Vonderland is a very dark purple creme. It’s much darker and more cool-toned than Skating on Thin Ice-land. This one I only needed two coats as it covered very nicely.
My Voice is a Little Norse is a silver/grey glitter with holographic glitter pieces. The base is a light grey, so you do get a good amount of nail coverage just using two coats, like I did here. It’s very shimmery and blingy!
I am completely loving so many of the shades in this collection. Almost all of them were just two coats and had a really great formula. My personal faves are Going My Way or Norway?, Ice-Bergers & Fries, Can’t aFjörd Not To, How Great is Your Dane?, My Dogsled is a Hybrid, Do You Have this Color in Stock-holm? and Thanks Glogg it’s Friday! Wow that’s like all of them practically, haha!
You will be able to find these starting in August at stores that sell OPI and they are around $9.50 each.
Which of these are your favorite shades?
