OCC Nail Lacquer

I’ve been on a nail art kick lately, trying to do some new designs I haven’t tried before. This time around I decided on trying the fishtail mani, as some like to call it.

Once again I used the tutorial that Sarah from Chalkboard Nails did because it seemed like an easy, fairly straight-forward method.

The colors I decided to use were from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and are called Dangerous, Something and Wasabi. I think these three shades go together perfectly!

OCC Dangerous

First I used Dangerous as my starting coat.

Then, trying not to spazz out too much, I painted on Something in a heart/shaped/v-shaped design. I did wind up spazzing out a little (shaky hands) and made a bit of a mess of the design. Oh well, first time and all. 😉 I had to use two coats of Something, which did make it more challenging/annoying.

Finally I used Wasabi over Something for the final color. Again I had to use two coats. I waited a couple minutes and then used Cult Nails Wicked Fast for the top coat.

Fishtail Mani-2

I mean it’s definitely shaky looking up close but from afar it looks alright. Maybe. I can’t decide if I like it or hate it.

But at least I have now done it once and hopefully next time it will turn out better!

Have you tried this type of design?
