Azature Nail Lacquer for Winter 2013

Azature Nail Lacquer

Happy Monday morning to ya. Hope your weekend was fantastic!

Today I’ve got three new shades from Azature. You might remember this brand because they have nail shades that each have a real 1.2 mm black diamond inside them. Oh also they have the most expensive nail polish in the world which is called Black Diamond and features 267 carats of black diamonds inside worth $250,000. O.o

But for those of us who are mere paupers and can’t afford to drop $250k on nail polish, they also have other nail shades that are less expensive (but still on the more spendy side).

Azature Nail Lacquer-2

Azature Cobalt Diamond

Cobalt Diamond

Cobalt Diamond is a shimmery, rich cobalt blue. This polish had such a nice formula! It was super creamy, smooth and without any issues. It’s nearly opaque in one coat but I used two.

Azature Blackberry Diamond

Blackberry Diamond

Blackberry Diamond is a dark wine-red cream. Usually these dark red colors take three coats for me to get them completely even, but this one was perfect in two coats.

Azature Midnight Diamond

Midnight Diamond

Midnight Diamond is a glossy jet black cream. You know I used to think black polish was black polish. But really, it’s not! This is a really great black. It’s super dark, very shiny and rich, and completely covers in two coats.

Azature Nail Lacquer Collage

Overall: While I don’t think any of these shades are unique, they do have a really nice formula and they cover completely in two coats. I get that they are a higher end luxury brand, but I would rather the bottles not have the black diamond inside and have the polish be less expensive than the other way around. I almost feel like emptying out a bottle to try and find the rock! :)

Availability: Selfridges, Ron Robinson, Kitson.

Pricing: $25.00 for 0.5 oz.

Would you buy any of these shades or are they too rich for your blood?

Pretty, but too rich for my blood. I gave in to temptation and pre-ordered Enchanted Polishes latest and was kind of ouch about that, and that was only $18 after tax and shipping!

I”m glad the formula is good here, but really, for this price I’d still rather see something unique (in the polish itself, I’m sure the diamond is ruined by all the polish…)

I… is the black diamond ground up and spread through the polish? That seems like such a tragic waste of a pretty rock! I’d much rather buy a polish with a matching ring, even if it turns out to be tiny. Subtle is always good :)

I love these polishes so much but every time I finally pick the ONE that I will splurge on you go and show me another gorgeous shade! Curses! Cobalt has me entranced but there is that amazing green that Azature has….oh the decisions.

Is it bad that I *really* want you to dump a bottle and show us what (if anything) is inside?

The colors are lovely and deep, but really not unique at all. Saving my $$$ on this one.

I like the blue one, but I would never pay that price for nail polish.

LOVE the blue, and the black looks really intense and creamy!

OPI costs $26 a bottle here, so this doesn’t seem expensive for me. ;-) lord alone knows what they’d charge if it was available here though. Black diamonds indeed – I’d take a lower price over the diamond too!

Seems gimmicky. The polish is beautiful though.

Beautiful but way too spendy for me!

Yeah, I don’t think a diamond in goopy nail polish is a selling point for me. The bottle is cute and the colors are quite nice though.

I don’t at all understand the appeal of diamonds, aside from its use in tools! (People talk about how “pure” diamonds are, but then go crazy over colored diamonds, which are by definition tainted by other minerals to give them their colors, and somehow MORE expensive!) And especially not in a nail polish. It’s either ground up and dispersed in the polish–which would make sense, except these look exactly like normal, non-diamond polish (and two of the shades are creme finishes)…or there’s just a diamond in the bottle for some reason. Maybe it’s serving as a really expensive BB? WTF, Azature?

These shades are pretty meh for what they are containing. I would rather spend my $25.00 on a knock out shade that I’m hoping Chanel or someone else will give us soon!

I’m interested in seeing what the diamonds look like after being cleaned up. Can’t seem to find a photo online.

That black looks amazing but…$25 ouchies. Is it better than Illamasqua Boosh?
