Jordana 12 HR Made To Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencil

Jordana 12 Hr Made To Last Liquid Eye Liner Pencil

Jordana 12 HR Made To Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencils are new at Walgreens.

These easy-to-use pencils come in six shades and are supposed to be water and transfer resistant and long-lasting. They are very creamy, like a liquid liner (well kinda sorta) and are paraben free.

Jordana 12 Hr Made To Last Liquid Eye Liner Pencil Swatches
Aqua Stone, Jade Jewel, Purple Fix, Espresso Last, Charcoal Definition, Black Point

Aqua Stone is a bright aqua metallic. A little uneven with application.

Jade Jewel is a deep jade green with slight shimmer. Gorgeous deep shade.

Purple Fix is a bright purple with fuchsia shimmer. Slightly uneven in application.

Espresso Last is a deep chocolate brown matte. Nice, deep and pretty.

Charcoal Definition is a medium grey metallic with silver sparkles. I am a sucker for grey liners, this one rocks.

Black Point is a dark black matte. Nice, deep black shade.

So a couple of these like Aqua Stone and Purple Fix maybe weren’t as even and pigmented as I would have liked but overall a nice set here. Have you noticed, as I have, that frequently purple eyeliners with shimmer have patchy issues? I have noticed this from nearly every drugstore brand, it’s odd!

Overall: For the price these are decent liners. The mattes tend to glide on a little easier than the shimmery ones. They wore nicely with no issues over a primer, except for on my waterline. It started fading off the waterline within an hour, which is typical for me with a pencil. My favorite ones here are Jade Jewel, Espresso Last and Charcoal Definition. Charcoal Definition is my favorite because I sometimes feel like black all around the eye makes me look older and too harsh now, so I wear dark greys more often. Because this one has the shimmer it looks smoky and so pretty.

Availability: Walgreens.

Pricing: $3.99.

Will you be picking any of these up at your local Walgreens?

Espresso Last looks great! I definitely prefer a dark brown over wearing black because it looks so much more natural on me.

The first time I used UD’s Ransom – before they reformulated, and I only had a trial size – even THAT was patchy. I wonder if it’s just the nature of purple cosmetic-safe pigments pluse whatever makes a pencil liner?

    …. hmmm….

So, science minded art major here. I’m going to hypothesize about the whole purple pigment issue. If you want a pigment to stick around and be really opaque you need it to come from a natural source of some sort. A lot of bright colors are made to really “Pop!” by adding white essentially to bulk up the punch and opacity of colors that are also often artificial like blues and several reds. When you mix this type of blue and red together, they do not make that type of purple at all. They make a really muddy brownish purple that looks strangely too light in tone as well. So, the ultramarine purple that we think of as purple is always synthetic chemical creation. It is one of the few colors that pretty much has always been like that, one of the reasons why it was so expensive for so long. It’s notoriously patchy and thin. It’s the same with most paints. I’m guessing this might be the reason why purple cosmetics are unreliable.

I remember Christine over at Temptalia mentioning this when MAC had some bloggers to help design some products for a collection. There’s always this hurdle to overcome when making something that’s purple.

Charcoal Definition is splendid. I am loving how the more affordable companies are bringing out more shades of eyeliners.

I may try one. I like gray as well but haven’t found one that stays on my lower lash line. UB 24/7 in gun metal (i think that’s the name) is gorgeous liner, but smears like crazy.

Are the Jordana liquid eyeliners twistable or do you have to sharpen them??? If you do have to sharpen them, does the tip stay in tact or fall out easily ?? Great find!

    • October 1, 2013

You sharpen them. They are soft so use a really sharp sharpener!

  • October 12, 2013

I bought the Charcoal Definition pencil and i used it and i just dont uderstand how to sharpen because I’m afraid I will ruin it somehow. Help!
