Fourth of July Mani 2013

I’ve been getting in the mood for the Fourth of July and decided to play around with the Pure Ice Stars & Stripes collection with the metallic blue Zoya Song thrown in for good measure.

I knew for sure I wanted to use Pure Ice Superstar! (white creme) and Siren (red creme) and definitely Freedom, which is a red/blue and star glitter bomb. But I also wanted the perfect blue and one with a non-creme finish. Zoya Song fit the bill!

I painted two coats of Superstar! on pointer and ring fingers and two coats of Siren on middle and pinky fingers.

I let dry them for 10 minutes or so. Then I used some dotting tools and just dotted on Siren, Superstar! and Song in various sizes all over. I painted two thin coats of Freedom over Siren on my middle finger.

Getting the stars out of Freedom is nearly an impossible feat! They totally stick to the sides of the bottles so it literally took me about 2-3 minutes to fish just one out, which I placed on manually. What a pain! But it looks cool. 🙂

The dots aren’t perfect but I still like the way it came out overall. I like using a metallic shade with cremes for the dots to add even more interest.
